The game at the Bridge was far from pointless.

Has to be beating Barca or the 3-5 vs Chelsea. Take your pick.
It's the Barca win for me. Even though they were still favourites to overturn a 2-1 deficit, the manner in which we got the win will always stick, pure joy.

Just went through a list of all our matches in 2011 and yeah has to be beating Barcunts. Not many contenders tbh. I didnt watch the 5-3 at Chavs so missed all the excitement and just isnt the same watching it after already knowing the result

In the Barca home and away tie, although we were knocked out, we had a chance to draw the tie and win on away goals. OK, it didn't happen, but what was important was that although they had most of the ball, there is the potential to beat them. We were closer to knocking them out than manu were to winning at the end. And out current team is better this year.
However......
My favourite is the 3-5 win away at chavs because that was the game showing that our improvement in form was not just a flash in the pan. We still have a way to go - a couple more players to buy - but that win would have helped the mentality of the squad, as well as giving the supporters the chance to put up two fingers to gloating chavs, at least for a while.

I'd pick the match at the Bridge, mainly because it made me feel like we were top dawg in London once again. The Satisfaction from that lasted longer than the barca game for me.

Szczesny.
And the many zones Wenger has invented.

Surely if youre picking a player then it has to be RVP?

We knew RVP was great already; he's just never been healthy for this long.
Szczesny was the emergence of a new Arsenal legend.
And not just because of his ability as a footballer.
Wilshere as well perhaps, but he's missed a half this year.

Decent keeper but the off field stuff is a bit embarrassing tbh

Beating Barca at home and the fight the lot have showed this season.
Watching Wilshere's performance against Barcelona.

Beating Barcelona has to be it. Another important (and sadistic) moment was losing 8-2 to Utd. That defeat changed a lot of things for the better at our club. We are still not on the right track yet but at least we look to be heading on the right path now... with AW, you never know though!

But yes, agree with FakeYank et al, the win against Barca was probably the best moment.
For that, Arshavin.
Otherwise, Arshavin.

For me it has to be the hard-won point against the Wolves. No one gave us a chance, but we knew we could do it.

No. You need to start with a keeper that gives the defence confidence, which in turn helps the midfield not look over their shoulders all the time and that feeds to better support for the forwards. We always new RvP had the talent - we've known that for years - but Szczesny has shown over the last year what talent he has and what a great keeper he will be. If he stays for his career, he will rank alongside Seaman as one of the best we've ever had.

The win vs Barca for me. OK, we didn't win the tie but it was the best night at the Emirates so far IMO.

Got to say beating Barca (ok was only one leg) but we were nearer than Manure in doing so but from dodgy refereeing we would have done...

Chesney flattening Bale twice in one match (was that this year or last?) Anyway, so good it can count for 2 years.

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has revealed his side’s 2-1 win at home to Barcelona in the last-16 of the Champions League as his highlight of 2011.
The Gunners came back from a goal down in the last 12 minutes to conquer the club who would go on to win the competition, after seeing off Arsene Wenger's side 3-1 in the reverse leg at Camp Nou - with the Dutchman receiving a red card.
Van Persie has had a record-breaking calendar year at the Emirates – equalling Thierry Henry’s Arsenal best of 34 goals in Premier League matches.
The 28-year-old told the club’s official website: “It's so difficult to pick a personal highlight from the year, but a couple of events stand out, such as beating Barcelona at the Emirates.
“That has become a really nice memory. Everyone who you ask about that game smiles in response.
“I remember the day after that game, an older guy, who was about 75-years-old, came up to me in the village where I live.
“He said to me ‘I don’t want your autograph, I don’t want my photo with you, all I want to say to you is that I have been an Arsenal fan all my life, and last night's game against Barcelona was the best Arsenal game ever.'
“He said it was the best Arsenal evening of his life, and when you can give people something like that, it really is something special.”
Arsenal face QPR at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and Van Persie will need to score a hat-trick to beat Alan Shearer’s record of 36 Premier League goals in a calendar year.
