Two quick oppotunities for Morocco to equalise - Younes Belhanda shoots just wide after a good run into the area, and then Chamakh has a great opprtunity to latch onto a looping ball, but Mathlouthi does enough to put him off.

Botswana v Mali, Libreville (1800 GMT)
So to re-cap then, three of these four teams can go through tonight. The Black Stars can keep things simple with a draw or a win, which will put them through. If Ghana get their result, Mali will follow them through to the last eight with a win in their match. But when are things ever that simple? And Guinea have real momentum on their side after equalling the all-time record Nations Cup scoreline with that 6-1 thumping of Botswana on Saturday.

1839: Mali's XI for tonight's game. 01-Oumar Sissoko, 02-Youssou Maiga, 03-Adama Tamboura, 23-Ousmane Coulibaly, 05-Cedric Kante, 12-Seydou Keita, 15-Bakaye Traore, 18-Samba Sow, 20-Samba Diakite, 09-Cheick Diabate, 11-Garra Dembele,
1834: So, the team news for tonight. Ghana have named a strong line-up: 16-Kwarasey, 04-Pantsil, 19-Jonathan Mensah, 15-Vorsah, 17-Addy, 06-Annan, 07-Inkoom, 10-Andre Ayew, 13-Jordan Ayew, 20-Asamoah, 23-Mohammed Abu.
No Agyemang-Badu, who is still injured, while Derek Boateng and John Boye are both suspended. Asamoah Gyan is conspicuous by his absence following his penalty miss against Zambia in the semis.
1830 GMT: Good evening. So, there's a little over 24 hours left of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations - and tonight, we have the game no teams wants to play in. The dreaded third-place play-off. The misfortune of contesting tonight's game falls to Ghana, beaten by Zambia in the semi-finals, and Mali, who were ousted by Ivory Coast in the last four.
3rd place play off tonight

12-02-2012, 08:17 PM
Interesting. What's the rationale behind that?
The Africa Cup of Nations happens every two years. However, with the current schedule of the tournament happening in the same year as the World Cup every time there is a World Cup, they decided that it would be better to move the tournament to odd-numbered years. So, rather than pushing back the next tournament and requiring us to wait three years, they pushed it forward so we'll only be waiting one year..

Kalou hauled off, Max Gradel on.
“Gervinho is in the final,” he said. “I have had him on the phone and sent him some messages a few times.
“He plays the final and you know what the rule is - 48 hours later he has to be back. I see him playing on Saturday, not on Wednesday.”
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-gervinho-may-be-back-next-weekend
I believe Newcastle play Ba and Cisse within days of coming back. Get him on the flight back tonight. Couple of days rest. I'd have him in the squad for Wednesday tbh.
It's interesting that Gervinho seems to play a very different role for Ivory Coast. He plays as more of a central player than a wide man. End effect is the same though: good at running past people. Tracks back well. Doesn't really look a goalscoring threat.
