So if we offer van Persie less and Chamakh more we should see a marked improvement on the pitch? Let's do that then.

The authors estimate that if a team changes from everyone being paid the same wage of €600k pa (the average in their sample) to a superstar earning €1.5m pa and everyone else in the team getting €510k, the chances of the team winning a game falls by 20 percentage points
How do they 'estimate' this? Who is suggesting that RvP gets a shit load and all the rest get the same identical amount? And the idea of basic a football team's outlook on that of a normal office is just bollocks.

Sounds like their data is based on the pundits' player ratings in the Sun. The data is unimpeachable.
