How old is Alex Song? He should be the young player of the year. Sturridge? That's a laugh. Wellbeck? Joke. Out of that list it has to be Aguero I suppose. Gareth Bale. LOL.
RvP is obviously player of the year by a country mile. Suspect they'll pick Rooney.
Really is a load of shite that list.
Dennis Bendtner
16-04-2012, 04:22 PM
Parker. Jesus christ.
Yeah, RVP and Aguero. Could only see Wazza edging RVP out from the main list.

Team of the year?
Hart
Sagna Kompany Koscielny Baines
Dempsey Song Mata
Rooney RVP Aguero
Subs:
Chesney
Evans (he's actually been very good in the absence of Vidic)
Evra (by default really)
Silva (Awesome for 5 months, shit since Christmas)
Larsson
Ba

Hart
Sagna Kompany Koscielny Baines
Dempsey Song Mata
Rooney RVP Aguero
On consistency, it's hard to argue with those individuals (apart from Baines, who's not actually very good), but Dempsey and Mata are out of place and the idiots who vote would put shite like Parker over Song and Walker over Sagna. And only form until Christmas seems to count.
It will probably look more like this:
Hart
Walker Kompany Lescott Cole/Assou-Ekotto
Yaya Parker Silva
Aguero RVP Rooney
Marc Overmars

Yeah I was going for my own personal choice, rather than what I think it will be, because it's obviously going to be a team of Scotty's.

I can get worked up by the sportwriters choices but never this one. If footballers want to pick their favourite players in a year then let them, we're not really anyone to argue.
We know plenty of them are thick as pig shit and probably need help to know which way round you sit on the toilet seat and that they need to vote in February because it takes 3 months just to count up a few votes and give a prize out.
But I will concede that they probably know better than me who actually gives them a tough match and who doesn't.

I've been quite impressed with Kyle Walker. But then again I've also been quite impressed with Jenkinson. I've always had a soft spot for the hard-working garbage.
I saw the Van Persie presentation on the Sky Sports programme earlier. I thought Van Persie looked and sounded quite awkward - which was surprising. He thanked Wenger for sticking by him through the tough times first and foremost, which was nice. He was also indirectly pushed to say something about his planned talks with Wenger at the end of the season, but he didn't give anything away. He couldn't stop the troll grin - this award's another £5k on his contract offer.
