The hunt is on for an actor to play dead terror chief Osama bin Laden.
Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow has been given the go-ahead to make a film about the killing of the al-Qaeda leader.
She and screenwriting partner Mark Boal were already working on a movie about the US Navy Seals.
It will now be re-worked to add the 40-minute fire fight involving the elite troops at the Pakistan compound.
Due to be released next year, the film’s working title is Killing Bin Laden.
Amy Pascal, of Columbia’s parent company Sony, which bought the rights, said: “Kathryn and Mark have an outstanding perspective on the team hunting the world’s most wanted man.”
Bigelow and Boal made the hard-hitting Iraq movie The Hurt Locker, which won five Academy Awards in 2010, beating Avatar to the Best Film Oscar.

Kaiser; Green Zone was indeed much better than The Hurt Locker.
I think this is because The Hurt Locker was mainly focused on following the soldiers, more specifically soldiers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, on their day to day lives which is pretty boring tbh and probably why I felt their was no plot (at the end I was thinking oh is that it?) because there was no real plot it was just following the soldiers as they did what they do.
Whereas Green Zone is more about the political aspect and the reasons why we went to war with one rogue soldier determined to get to the bottom of the bullshit. This makes for a much more interesting story, primarily because it actually has a plot.
So yeah good film 8/10.

I was saying all the new ones were poor!
The original three were enjoyable.
And Pirates 4 is as awful as the second and third films. Perplexing that a $250 million budget can be wasted on such an unfocused, uninteresting, noisy, pointless mess. Shame on Johnny Depp for keeping this rubbish going.

http://www.totalfilm.com/news/human-centipede-ii-banned-by-bbfc
The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) has been rejected by the British Board of Film Classification because it is “sexually violent and potentially obscene”.
The relatively rare decision has been made because the second film features “unacceptable material” throughout.
This means the DVD won't be able to be supplied legally anywhere in the UK.
Last year, The Human Centipede (First Sequence) was released, uncut, as an 18, and featured three subjects sewn together end-to-end by an insane doctor.
A report by the BBFC draws focus to two scenes, one of which features sandpaper, another of which features barbed wire, both in places of extreme discomfort.
"The first film dealt with a mad doctor who sews together three kidnapped people in order to produce the ‘human centipede’of the title," says the report, by BBFC director David Cooke.
"Although the concept of the film was undoubtedly tasteless and disgusting, it was a relatively traditional and conventional horror film and the Board concluded that it was not in breach of our Guidelines at ‘18’.
"This new work, The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence), tells the story of a man who becomes sexually obsessed with a DVD recording of the first film and who imagines putting the ‘centipede’ idea into practice."
The report goes on to say the sequel focuses on: “the sexual arousal of the central character at both the idea and the spectacle of the total degradation, humiliation, mutilation, torture and murder of his naked victims".
"The explicit presentation of the central character’s obsessive sexually violent fantasies is in breach of Classification Guidelines and poses a real, as opposed to a fanciful, risk that harm is likely to be caused to potential viewers."
Cook justified the ban by saying: "“It is the Board's carefully considered view that to issue a certificate to this work, even if confined to adults, would be inconsistent with the Board's Guidelines, would risk potential harm within the terms of the VRA, and would be unacceptable to the public."
Oh well, won't take MrsL to see that after all then.
:haha:
Why would people want to watch that anyway??

07-06-2011, 11:27 AM
BBFC piss me off. Once a film has an 18 rating anything should go, who are they to decide what an adult can and can't see. They also savagely cut films for no good reason eg. Under Siege. Bastards.

X-Men: First Class is exactly that- first class.
Hugh Jackman
 That was probably the best bit.
I thought First Class was caught between trying to be an intelligent character study and a big summer superhero blockbuster. It didn't develop either enough to be fully cohesive. It had some great scenes and performances, coupled with some cheesy ones that didn't really work. It also seemed far too rushed, with none of the characters fleshed out enough. Michael Fassbender was excellent. Maybe the Magneto film they had planned would have been a better idea. The next installment has the potential to build on First Class, but this first prequel was a good, if slightly underwhelming effort. Also, Beast in Beast Mode was shit. X-Men 2 is still the best in the series.

Maybe - but you should know the history of my name - I was adopted as MissHandbag when in Amsterdam - the Dutch term for faghag (because of my effortless dirty dancing on stage with gay men)- I'm not into fashion, designer labels and poncey shit.
And my favourite film is Lord of the rings (nothing to do with gay men I might add)

Why do you all get so emotional and angrily invested in football? Why discuss and moan about every liitle detail?
There's far more depth and subjects worthy of discussion within a film than there is in any sport.
Unless the film stars Vin Diesel or Meg Ryan.

Second was more expansive and had the groundbreaking special effects, as Letters said. Plus one of the greatest bad guys ever. Robert Patrick
Third was silly fun, but mostly a pointless re-tread. And that woman terminator was a bit shit.
Salvation was good, but didn't really flesh out the Terminator universe enough. Maybe a sequel would fix that? Also, Sam Worthington is more wooden than Arnie. But Arnie made wooden acting an artform. Worthington is just bland in everything.
Did anyone watch the TV series? That was building up to be really excellent. Slow-moving but an intriguing take on story. Shame it was cancelled.

As long as everyone agrees that the first 2 were brilliant.
Think the 2nd was better than the first though
But that's just me.

Watched Sarah Connor Chronicles. Stupid Americans canceling it.
There has to be a new Terminator film surely. They can't end it like that. We want to see John Connor kick terminator ass.
Now that Arnie is considering getting back to acting, you never know.

Do people tend to watch the Bonus Features on DVDs?
Watched the bonus stuff for The Terminator and it was pretty good. Lance Kendrick was scheduled to play the Terminator and Arnie as Reese but Arnie felt he related more to the Terminator character.
OJ Simpson was also considered

I really hope Transformers 3 isn't as cheesy and poorly written as number 2.
They had a good thing going after the first one but had a shocker after.

This. Loved the film.
And yeah whilst I didn't think Rosie was anything special looking at pics of her, in the film she is stunning. Hope there's a 4th one

Saw the trailer for the Harry Potter film out soon, looks pretty good. Although there's a bit in the trailer that isn't in the book.
Haven't seen part 1 yet but as long as they don't miss out on the big battle at the end which they did for Half Blood Prince for some reason then it should be ok

I'm not so sure, I really liked how they ended that film, sort of wrapped everything up well. Might go watch it again actually.

Not sure about The A Team.
Not a patch on the tv show but i didnt expect it to be so harsh to critisise it for that but the black van was hardly in it and the music was hardly played.
7/10
The Aristocats - 5/10

IronMan 2 has been watched......thought it best as I only saw 1 the other day
couldnt help feeling sorry for the actor who played Rhodes in the first.......Cheadle is a fine actor (apart from the Oceans series, where is London accent is utter crap - has to be having a laugh with that?) but the other guy got shafted out of the role it sounded like
Hangover waiting to be watched tomorrow - wifes choice! had always wanted to see it but was too frightened to suggest it

Apparently he demanded the same money as RDJ for his role as Rhodes which is why he was replaced!

Did you guys not think, even as bad as sequels traditionally are, that Iron Man 2 was shockingly worse than Iron Man?

Saw Dark of The Moon last night, much much better than first and second Transformers. :good:
Hopefully they will introduce Ultra Magnus and Rodimus in the next movie.
