This has now turned into our most important game of the season. I'm confident we can beat Norwich but we must not be complacent.
I hope the boys are up for this, they've gotten themselves into a good position, would hate for us to undo this work with a poor ending.

Pah. I remember one time Sky showed Utd (already champions) vs Someone (already relegated) just so they could jizz over Utd for 90 minutes. Don't bank on our game being televised whatever happens.

We should have the goods to dispatch of a faltering flock(?) of canaries but its the saggy Baggies I worry about. . .the loss of a manager usually lowers confidence levels but I have a feeling they are going to be massively up for the game
1) last game of season
2) a chance to play a part in one of the leagues mini battles
3) give Woy the right kind of goodbye
(I am saying this under the impression that Woy is not staying on at WBA, havent bothered reading anything but headlines.)

Arsenal v Norwich (1245 BST)
This is a massive game for Arsenal in the race for third place in the Premier League and the good news for the Gunners is that Norwich look like they have hit the wall in recent weeks, which their manager Paul Lambert will not be happy about.
Lambert will be delighted in one respect, because the Canaries are safe and sat on 43 points, but they seem to have fallen victim to the same problem Charlton used to have when they were in the top flight a few years ago, when they got to 40 points and a few of their players seemed to switch off.
I was speaking to Stoke boss Tony Pulis about this last week and I asked him if players are on a percentage of the prize money you get for where you finish in the table.
Pulis said they are not on that at Stoke, but he thinks that is something worth looking at because it is extra incentive for players at the end of the season, if they need it.
This is Arsenal's last home game of the season which is another reason they will be pushing hard to win it.
They go to West Brom on the last day of the season for Roy Hodgson's farewell to the Baggies before he takes the England job. By then, the Gunners will have an idea of what they need to do to clinch a Champions League place and there might be a carnival atmosphere around The Hawthorns, which will make it easier for them.
If Arsene Wenger's side need to win both games to finish third, then I think they will do it.
Prediction: 2-0
Lawro and Dennis Taylor both predict 2-0 wins

Oh blast. Forgot about that. I'd have been up for that (assuming we win today, not so much otherwise) as since they got it together they've been pretty good and worked hard. They deserve some appreciation for that. As someone who bleated all season about how we'd finish in mid-table I'd have thought you would agree...

Worst half of the season? When we needed one of our best? Early goal killed us, this team doesn't have the mindset to deal with it. Ramsey, Song, Gervinho awful. Put Fabianski in the middle, couldn't be any worse. Lucky to get out of that only a goal down.

A lot of blocks and last-ditch tackles to keep this at 1-2. Could really be worse. But still a huge task to secure the minimum requirement in the second half. I don't see their danger on the counterattack waning. Huge 45 minutes.

Watching Arsenal when under pressure is so painful. I feel so helpless watching us throw away our season. We've essentially got 45 minutes to save our season, I'm not sure what Arsene is going to say to the players but if I was in his position I'd tell every single one of them they are playing for their future.

Song's chippy assists have glossed over the fact that he's been poor in at least half our games this season. Arteta's influence must be evident to everyone by now.
Only Rosicky and Gibbs are trying to make something happen. Koscielny excellent as usual (shirt pull aside and everyone else gets away with them anyway).
Holt showing why he's a genuinely good striker. Probably been better than Rooney in open-play this season tbf.

Because we are not good enough to qualify for the Champions League. There are only a handful of players in this squad whom I would say are Champions League elite quality, and one of them's been injured for the whole season.

Nothing to do with injury. He's been the greatest of passers and was always guilty of doing silly flicks and dangerous mistakes that could cost us a goal. Right now, we're seeing an inexperienced player low on confidence. That's why his play is so negative and Wenger is a fool to keep playing him.
