Nah, it's never been compressed into such a small window and the transfer market has never been so badly destabilised. Not even the crook over at chavski was as bad as this. Their "achievement" won't count for anything, just like Blackburns - a non-event. The gypos in mancland might delude themselves but nobody else is fooled.

People talk about showing tactical nous and ability, well Mancini showed exactly that by bringing De Jong on for Nasri and putting Toure further forward. Sure, there's always a bit of luck when it comes to these decisions but he had the courage to take that decision, when many were claiming it was a defensive change, and it paid dividends in the end. I can't see Wenger doing something like this, he seems devoid of ideas when it comes to changing games. In the past he used to bring on Bendtner and stick him on the right, and hope for the best. That doesn't strike me as a manager who is tacticall astute.
Come on Big 'Eck, do something exciting.

When I said Mancini was going for it, I was serious. It was Nasri coming off after all. It's much easier to be tactically astute though when you don't have a bunch of shitheads on your playing staff.

Exactly, I don't get this excessive anti-Citeh hate. The team with the most money has won before, and in any case money by itself is never enough to win a league, you need to sign the right players, have the right manager who can organise them effectively, and ensure there's a winning mentality at the club so that in the crucial moments you have players who can deliver (like Yaya today and Kompany against Man Utd last week).
If we complain that City finishing top doesn't mean anything because of their wealth, well us finishing above Newcastle doesn't mean anything either since we're a much richer club than them.

Liverpool were doing that all through the 1980s buying in Barnes, Houghton, McMahon, Beardsley, Aldridge etc who nobody else could afford.
Some teams have always had rich chairmen others haven't.
There's 100 different ways Man Utd sell themselves off like a prostitutes & bring in fans from every corner of the globe & the Glazers have hardly got their hands down the side of the sofa looking for a lost £2.

Aint sport - that's why, with an outfit like city its commerce, nothing else. Winning the league to them is like a takeover bid, chuck the money and keep chucking it until you get what you want. Injuries, suspensions, even if their top striker goes walkabouts, doesnt affect them because they are not on the same playing field as anyone else. It's a nothing achievemnet and no credit goes to any of the mercenaries there.

You've to go give some credit to the team who win the league. Spending money in itself doesn't guarantee you to win trophies. Teams like Lazio, Inter Milan and Real Madrid have spent money in the past but didn't achieve the sort of success they wanted to.
And this "mercenary" tag doesn't make sense either, most footballers are mercenaries. Sure, if you've got a homegrown players they're more likely to stick with you through thick and thin, but most clubs these days don't have many players who've developed from the academy, not just City.

Cantona ***ed off for half a season & had no effect.
The teams City are beating are doing the same. Chelsea have ploughed billions in, Liverpool have spent bonkers money in the last 12 months and on what? Man Utd have brought a decent player through in nearly 20 years, everyone there cost millions, nobody else has a chance buying the English players they have (not that you'd want half of them).
Even Spurs have spent a mystifying amount of millions in the last decade for having won one Carling Cup & a shitty little ground of 35,000. Where's that come from?
Only us & Newcastle have brought through or bought some reasonably decent talent.
It's magnified more with City as it's a Sheikh, but I don't see the difference with spending 85 million or 850 million. It's an obscene amounf of money either way.
Bar the fact they signed probaby the three most timid, gutless, spineless overrated tossers to have wore an Arsenal shirt, I'm no more put out by them winning it than the other 4 sides.

And then Rooney uses their FB as a stepladder and moans when the ref blows. Rooney edging closer to the whole season without a booking mark.
Some of you need to rethink your definitions of 'bottling'. We bottled it yesterday. Spurs' recent collapse and their result today was just the result of playing a tough fixture. Travelling to Villa park has always been tough for good sides. Newcastle lost to the champions so you can't call that bottling it either.
Anyway, at least we know what we have to do now and there's only one team to cheer on: Come on Fulham!!

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes the transfer market has become 'insane' due to the spending power of clubs like Manchester City.
Backed by their wealthy owners, City have spent a fortune on players including Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Carlos Tevez in recent seasons.
That has made it difficult for other clubs, including United, to compete for Europe's top talent.
"Nobody can match their financial power, no one," Ferguson said
