Great place for a date in London

Hey, I'm meeting someone tomoz night and decided to take her to covent garden. Anyone know of good restaurants/eating places there?? Alternativley any other great nooks and cranies u guys know about. Really want her to have fun, shes from outside London. TBH I'm not keen on spending loads either. Any ideas??

All I can contribute is there's in Italian right in the middle of the square, you go down to a basement. Can't remember the name, blotted it out. Avoid it unless you like microwave lasagne at £10 a pop (probably £15 by now).

I tend to go to Maxwell's quite often for a drink. If you want good food and are 'not keen on spending a lot' then don't go to covent gardens. Go to the hipster parts of London.

Don't go to nandos ffs. As a londoner, you've got to go to some hidden gems which are only in London. 'That Lebonese place in Farringdon'. There are tons about.

As I'm such a free spirit, I go wherever the Groupon takes me.

There's quite a nice place called Bistro on Southampton Street which is just off the Strand at the south side of Covent Garden. There are loads of places on the Strand itself which are OK and not too expensive.

Treat her to some poutine at 'The Maple Leaf' on Maiden Lane.

There is also 'The Porterhouse' on Maiden Lane with beer brewed on the premises. They also do food.
