A chemical found in curry is to be tested for its ability to kill bowel cancer tumours in patients.
Curcumin, which is found in the spice turmeric, has been linked to a range of health benefits.
Studies have already shown that it can beat cancer cells grown in a laboratory and benefits have been suggested in stroke and dementia patients as well.
I wonder if I can get my doc to prescribe curry on the NHS for me. :cloud9:
What at £7.50 a go prescription?
Fair enough.
I'll stick to making my own for cheaper.

No. If you are a regular (and with curry, you would be) then you can opt to pay £100 a year which then gives you free unlimited prescriptions. For 365 curries, that's a bargain.

Although I do think the bowel cure is probably more down to the curry making the quickest exit it can, along with anything else in your gut, as apposed to it doing any miracle cure.
If I was cancer, I wouldn't want to live in my gut over a typical weekend.

These curries would be prepared by the NHS. Just saying.

Nah - under the new privatised Tory NHS, you'll get a voucher to take to the emporium of your choice. :good:
choice does not mean an automatic improvement on previous services, does not preclude local monopolies and may not represent full cost recovery as chefs trained and employed by the NHS may be used in the production of private health curries.

Any Indians complaining of being cancer ridden in future should be turned away by the NHS for being hypochondriacs - malingering gits
