Arsenal fans have voted Robin van Persie (http://www.arsenal.com/first-team/players/robin-van-persie)'s strike against Barcelona as our Goal of the Season.

The Dutch striker caught out Victor Valdes at his near post with an audacious finish in the first leg of our Champions League tie against the Catalan giants in February.

Van Persie's intervention set up a famous 2-1 victory at Emirates Stadium and it earned him 24 per cent of the votes cast in our official poll.

Samir Nasri (http://www.arsenal.com/first-team/players/samir-nasri) pushed his team-mate all the way but his second goal against Fulham in December - a slaloming run and a cool finish - was one per cent behind in our runners-up spot.

Nasri's first goal in that 2-1 win was another solo strike and it claimed third place.

Andrey Arshavin (http://www.arsenal.com/first-team/players/andrey-arshavin) finished fourth with his winner against Barcelona at the Emirates which means our top four goals of the season came from just two games.

Van Persie rounded off the top five with his spectacular volley against Birmingham City in the Carling Cup Final.

Is that really the best goal? It was a good goal but if that wins goal of the season then the rest of the goals must be pretty poor.

In fact, did we even score from outside the area this season?

I see more *goal of the X* or "best X goals of all time" judged on context. Remembering RVP's goal brings more shivers down my spine than any of the others, maybe our second goal against Chelsea at home?

And there have been no goals scored from out side the box at the emirates last season, home or away if that helps.

Gotta be the second against Barca, surely? That was a nice move. I know you can pick out opposition mistakes in any goal but nevertheless Valdez' obvious fault for Van Persie's goal takes the shine away from it imo.

Yep, the 2nd vs Barca for me. Fast, flowing move just like what we used to do to devastating effect. We don't do that enough now.
Was a great goal and when you consider the opposition and that it was the winner, definitely the goal that meant the most to me.

It was a great goal and an awesome moment but the goal its self was kinda forgettable in that we kinda used to always score those goals. RVP's goal was really unexpected and exemplified the audacity we had that day.

As a team goal, Arshavin's winner against Barca was briliant. As was RVP's second against Wolves in the 2-0 win.

For individual brilliance, it has to be Nasri's winner against Fulham.

Don't know how I managed to miss that. Yes, that was our best goal of the season.

Don't know how I managed to miss that.

Maybe because you joined the Asian Clique. I'm pretty sure it messes with your brain.
