I think the Flamini deal is our DM sorted. I was actually impressed with him today. But we are definitely a defender short (RB/CB) still. So fingers crossed it will be Ozil, plus striker plus defender.

this transfer feels like us spending on someone, no matter their position, just to prove a point and not addressing more important areas.

if we can over spend on ozil, then suarez or higuain should have happened.

no i agree with that but they will both be shoe horned into the first eleven, so we lose something from someone because of that. i'm really not convinced this improves us that much - which sounds bizarre given the quality of ozil and if one was a back up for the other then great - but they won't be. plus with wilshere guaranteed to start with ramsey, our midfield needs balance. we lacked that last season.

The club will probably recoup a third of the transfer fee in increased shirt purchases. Gooners are just that ecstatic by this.


The best thing about this now is that it's a signal of intent ....... far too late now to do anything productive with it in this window but with him in team, other world class/talented players will be more likely to join us so they can play along a player of his calibre.
