Not just because of the goal-line clearance, but Gibbs has been our best player tonight. At both ends of the pitch. He's covering the whole left side himself.

Flamini has been really poor.

It also helps when you watch it playing forward. There was not a single clip that showed it to being remotely close to being a penalty.

My first instinct before the replay was that he poked it away. But the ref was at the wrong angle tbf.

He wasn't a bad ref really. Tried to keep the game going.

His worst decision was letting that hauling down of flams go. If they'd scored there, i would have shot the cunt myself.

it just begs the question. just what the fuck do those officals do behind the goal line. there was that decision, and the one where BFG got kicked in the face. stonewall penalty that

It would have been a soft stone wall tbf.

It would have been a soft stone wall tbf.

not sure on that. if that was outside the box, its a foul. so why is it not a foul inside the box? its a clear high boot. its not like mertesacker is small either. 100% foul so therefore stonewall penalty

Syn
18-09-2013, 10:11 PM
If Theo went down he would've got a penalty too in the first few minutes. Agree with LDG though. Ref was decent enough considering Marseille were very physical and we needed play to go on in order to do them on the counter.

Zerlathon
19-09-2013, 07:12 AM
I got the feeling that the ref was a little soft on issuing fouls... There was that high kick quite early on that just missed Flamini's head (was a few yards out of their box). If that had connected, then I don't think we would have had Flamini for a few weeks. :/

The Emirates Gallactico
19-09-2013, 10:27 AM
Merts should have got a pelanty when he got kicked in the face in the box.

It would have easily been a foul outside the box but I suppose being in the box the ref was reluctant to make a big decision there.
