Long time away but I really can't be arsed to focus on England.
Will we buckle after the internationals? Who is back for this game?
I think Cazorla's back. Walcott too? Sagna as well?
Won 3-1 last season with 3 goals in the last 5 minutes after going 1-0 down.
3-0

It'll be our annual 7-1 thrashing.

I was thinking the international break was a hindrance but it's actually good we have no league games to potentially drop points before our big players are back.
Blessing in disguise.

Hmmm i remember after the internationals in October last season we had to play Norwich before playing a German side at home in the Champions League...let's hope that's not an ominous portent.

That is probably our best team, even with everyone fit who isn't. I'd go with that for the next game.
Should Flamini take a tactical booking to miss the Palace game rather than the Liverpool one?
I don't think it'll need to be tactical for him to get a booking.

Norwich aren't too clever at the moment, so it's not impossible he will avoid it like a wily fox but I don't think it will have escaped him that he could miss the Liverpool game if he doesn't. He did hone his dark arts after leaving us, in Italy.

Ray Parlour pick his midfield,
"Aaron Ramsey's been the player of the season so far, he's been superb with the goals he's scored but the whole midfield are very adaptive now.
"At the moment Ramsey's guaranteed a place in my team, Flamini as well with the way he is playing in that holding role. Then it's who plays around them? Ozil obviously is going to play behind the front and then you've got Cazorla, who had a great season last year, so I'm sure he'll be back in the side as well."
No Arteta and Jack. :coffee:

Giroud
Cazorla and Ozil on the same pitch please
Theo is still dead.
If Arteta misses out (which he won't) then Jack will play.
I doubt he'll play both Cazorla and Özil unfortuately....he'll either rest Özil and give Cazorla a run out, or bench Santi, ready for a 10 minute cameo appearance at the end....when he'll come on for Özil.
He's not known as WUMger for nothing.
Master Splinter
16-10-2013, 12:06 PM
WUMger will save the five-man midfield thing for Dortmund. Although with Urzel and Cazorla doing whatever the fuck they want behind Giroud (yes homo) it just has to be awlsome. If Feo is fit he'd be useful if it's counter-attack v counter-attack.
Gnabry has been impressive for the U19s, so he might play against Norwich.
At least they don't have Holt playing to foul our defenders and continually get away with it. I suppose Elmander will do that.
Marc Overmars
16-10-2013, 12:37 PM
I'm hopefully we leave one of Arteta or Flamini out. With the array of attacking midfielders we have I don't think we really need to play 2 DM's for a game like this. Save that for more tactical matches.

Don't think Caz would start unless Oz needs a break after international duty. I reckon Oz to start and Caz to replace him at some point in the second half. Likewise for Ramsey/Arteta.
Would it be a good match to give the Verminator some game time?

on Mesut Ozil, who was substituted for Germany on Tuesday...
He is alright. He came back with a knock on the knee but it was just a kick. We’ll have a test tomorrow to see if he is fit enough for Saturday or not. When you have not played, there is always a little doubt but not a major one.
on Sagna and Cazorla…
Sagna is 80 per cent fit and he will have a test. Cazorla is available in training but he is not match-fit. It is just about competitiveness with him. There is a possibility both are in the squad for Saturday. I have not decided whether they will start or not.
on Rosicky and Walcott...
Rosicky is back in the squad and available. Walcott is still two weeks away.
on Sanogo, Podolski, Diaby, Oxlade-Chamberlain...
All of them are out for a longer period.

I would opt for something simillar to Syn's team. I can't see why we should risk both defensive midfielder's for the likes of Norwich. They haven't been a bad team since coming up but they have been pretty poor this season. Rosicky can come into the double pivot with one of them if needed or I would be happy to push Ozil wide and put Rosicky behind the forwards.

Not sure bringing on Bendtner is the correct move here. Sure Giroud could do with a rest but the 3 points aren't in the bag yet.

If it wasnt true, it might be funny.. We've shipped too many goals against inferior opposition.

Should be playing Championship football at best...
Wait who said that - yeah that's it MOST OF YOU.
Shows that we should always be behind players willing to put in the work in for the benefit of our team. Was always obvious he was only lacking confidence -was a disgrace how most here slammed him during the dark days.
Part of me almost expects the same the moment he has a dip in form....

CAN IT. When he was shit we said he was shit. Now he's awesome. No harm done.
Can't we just be happy after a win. Maybe you think we should keep playing Bender till he turns into Jarzinho.

 like that - but as I said ,in Ramsey's case it was a case of confidence - in bendys case, he has tons of it...problem is e really isn't nearly as good as he think he is. Also his reluctance to move on and get regular football just so he can keep his fat wages makes it a very different case in point.
