Going back to one of Jebus' points, I don't want to see many more unprotected chair shots to the head. Knowing what we do about Benoit of course, and with a concussion doing for Nowinski's career among others, I am more than happy to suspend my disbelief enough that a chair to the back will - kayfabe -have just as much impact on an opponent. Only in very expectional circumstances should they occur now. Hell, when HHH and Undertaker (yes, both the boss' son-in-law and most protected man in the business respectively) worked a bonce-shot in at WM last year, they were fined - that's how much it is now correctly frowned upon backstage.
During the latter part of the Attitude era, and even beyond it, you were even getting both competitors juicing in things like mid-card US title matches on Smackdown! How can blood have any meaning if it can be 'got' in matches like that?!
The PG rating certainly has its problems, but they are more with characterisation limits as opposed to anything in the ring. You still get kerrazy spots, but with - slightly  - less of the risk.I understand these things have their risks, but I used to love seeing the odd bit of blood during a match and a good chair shot to the head (with arm raised of course) was just as enjoyable.
Its a shame that they have been removed but I can understand the reasons why.

Anyone else think HBK as special referee in the HHH Taker match is a shite idea?
Dont see the point of going for this angle tbh.
This match should be about the two guys going at it one last time in one huge match up where they can both bow out gracefully (as Im guessing that is going to be the point of the match).
HBK did his thing and left, whilst I dont mind seeing him turn up for the odd promo plug now and then, I think this will take away from the match at WM.

I can't remember when, or whether it was a house event or what, but Austin really smashed a chair into Vinny's head in circa 1998. It was enough to make me wince. Think Vince had someone in a headlock or something at the time and was wearing a white coat, but it looked and sounded pretty real!

A SAUCY sex tape claimed to feature Hulk Hogan is reportedly being offered for sale to a porn production company
The footage is said to show the wrestler, 58, running his hands through his white-blond hair after removing his T-shirt.
He also allegedly says: "I started to work out again."
The video is also claimed to show Hogan with a thong-shaped tan line.
The identity of the woman in the sex flick is unknown. But the brunette is not thought to be Hogan's ex-wife Linda Claridge or his current missus Jennifer McDaniel.
It is also unclear when the clip was filmed.
Steve Hirsch, founder of Vivid Entertainment, told US gossip site TMZ that he had been approached by a third party in possession of the tape.
He did not say whether Vivid or any other company have made an offer.
Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, has not yet commented.

he's had his moments - and there's still time for more of course - but on the whole he hasn't quite been there yet for me. I don't think Dwayne has fully got back into the role. But then, when you're balancing this with rehearsals for the part of 'Hercules', it must be difficult to harness

WHILE many wrestlers have tried their hands at the acting business over the decades, few have had big budget success.
Yet joining The Rock among the handful who have struck Hollywood gold is the man once known as Kurrgan.
A star in the WWE in the late 1990s, the gigantic Robert Maillet is instead now making his name in box-office smashes including 300 and Sherlock Holmes.
And he took time out of promoting his latest release, The Big Bang, to look back on his previous life as a professional wrestler.
Speaking exclusively to SunSport, he told us: "I guess I've been wrestling for about 22 or 23 years now. I was always a big fan as a kid and loved watching Hulk Hogan, Randy 'Macho Man' Savage and all those other talented and colourful guys.
"My friends suggested I should give wrestling a go and with my size and enthusiasm for the industry I thought why not.
"So I talked a local trainer into letting me join his programme and in turn I began to tour the Canadian circuit. Due to my height and build I was pushed straight away and got to appear on the majority of the cards.
"Through my appearances across Canada I got the opportunity to travel and wrestled in Japan and Mexico. I had some great experiences there, learning as much about the business as possible.
"There's so much to learn and take in that it taught me to just take everything in and use it to my own benefit each time I got in the ring."
Maillet added: "My time in the WWE came about through a friend who knew Bret Hart. I was always a fan of the WWE and I was amazed to get an offer to join such an organisation.
"Bret had heard all about my career to date then. He liked what he saw and they flew me to Calgary.
"I was trained even further by Bret, he is a real legend and taught me well. The next thing I knew I was being signed up by the WWE and never looked back."
Robert's time with the WWE came at the height of the Attitude Era. Despite never expecting to appear on TV, he found fame as part of the Truth Commission stable and later the Oddities.
He told us: "Appearing on Raw was an honour. To then be added to live tours, PPV events and even have toys made of me was simply unbelievable. I loved every moment of it.
"Of course there were times I did sit and worry about things, especially before a taping or event.
"You'd arrive at the arena and have to wait to hear if you were being used and how that may be. So I'd never be sure where my character would be going or who he'd be fighting and that was unnerving.
"Life in the WWE was hard too, I was on the road and I had a young family, so I missed them a lot. I was lucky though, when you are on the road there are many risks and a lot of the guys end up 'damaged'. I was very fortunate indeed."
Kurrgan was released by the WWE in 1999, an initial blow that then led to a major acting career.
Maillet looks back on that time with a mixture of nostalgia and pride, but no regrets.
He admitted: "I was of course very upset when I got released by the WWE. I was heartbroken in fact, but you soon realise that it is simply business and that wrestling is a business and these decisions need to be made.
"They had given me many chances to prove myself, I feel I made my mark there and most importantly I got to live my dream of being a professional wrestler like I always hoped I could. I had my chance to shine in the WWE, they gave me that opportunity.
"I never feel in any way bad about my time there wrestling. Without wrestling I would not be where I am today.
"My wrestling background has certainly helped my acting career. I was used to learning scripts/dialogue and knew how to work in front of cameras. It's a different process, but that previous experience has certainly helped me. Acting is more defined and less over the top than wrestling needs to be.
"My WWE past has given me the chance to pursue acting as a career and so far I've been very lucky. I've been in movies like 300, Sherlock Holmes and many others, with each one my roles get bigger and I get to learn more.
"I have also got to work with some of the world's biggest A-list actors, I thank the WWE for helping me achieve that."

That'll be The Interrogator from The Truth Commission then, before becoming Kurrgan and joining the Oddities. Briefly popular, but blew chunks in the ring!
Concluded the Eddie DVD yesterday. Perhaps one too many inconsequential short TV matches on there (I'm looking at you Hardy's in 2001/2002), but otherwise broadly speaking great stuff. Ending aside, the Smackdown match with Angle from April 2005 is probably A-PPV quality, I'd go **** 1/2. It might just edge out their WM 20 match actually. Of course the DVD has a sad end, indeed watching the last few matches it's clear to see that Eddie was starting to look increasingly 'wizened', despite still being able to get it done in the ring.
Also watched the documentary portion of the Jericho DVD. Superb stuff, reminds me how much I prefer that format than the premable/match one. Pulls no punches, very honest, but very funny too - especially during the conversation about some of his previously suggested gimmicks... And of course, "Arm-Bar!!!" Just onto the matches now.
Speaking of Jericho, rumours going around that Y2J - Punk could well be opening WM. Not sure how I feel about that. Jericho himself was asked about that rumour on Twitter:
"Thats BS. Its gonna be the dark match..."

WWE.com reports that John Cena was involved in an automobile accident early today while on a media appearance in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. There are no injuries reported at this time. The SUV the Raw Superstar was traveling in was rear ended by a tractor trailer. Police arrived to the scene and no immediate injuries were reported.
He will meet with WWE medical personnel when he arrives at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center for tonight's Raw SuperShow event.
In less than two weeks, Cena will face The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII. WWE says "the effect this accident will have on the Cenation leader remains to be seen."

WRESTLING legend Kevin Nash reckons the big showdown at WrestleMania between The Undertaker and Triple H will NOT be either man's last appearance in the ring.
Nash — who is close friends with both grapplers — gave SunSport a call to preview this year's Mania, which will be held in Miami.
And the match that was most on his mind was the one that pits his best pal Triple H — real name Paul Levesque — against Mark Calaway, aka the legendary Undertaker.
Nash told us: "It's going to be hard for them to follow last year, because the match they had was so epic.
"By adding the cell and by adding Shawn Michaels, they've got some more things to use as far as from a psychology and moving parts standpoint.
"It changes the psychology of the match. I'm really looking forward to seeing that what they do.
"I know that Mark's beat up, like we all are. I know Paul's beat up. His job is behind the scenes and in the office. When he does wrestle it's an added thing.
"It's added responsibility and I think that puts a ton of pressure on him, because he is so involved in so many day-to-day decisions that are made within the WWE.
"For something like WrestleMania it's easy for either one of those guys, the calibre of performer that they are, to be able to put one out of their hat.
"Mark hasn't worked since last Mania, so I think he's just a WrestleMania-type guy. Once he's gone it's the end of that era. I think you try to keep him part of it to some degree.
"But if it is 'one and done', he's through after this WrestleMania and he was to get beaten, then I'm sure he'd be inducted into the Hall of Fame and you go from there.
"But I personally don't think it will be the last time we see either one of those guys."
Nash himself will not be appearing on the Granddaddy of Them All, but Big Sexy did return to a WWE ring for the first time in seven years when he entered the 2011 Royal Rumble as Diesel, gaining a huge reaction from the crowd.
Later in the year, he returned again to cost CM Punk the WWE title at SummerSlam, with the pair trading heated promos on Raw for several weeks.
But despite their chemistry on the mic, the angle fizzled out with Nash instead working a programme with Triple H.
Nash said: "The return at the Royal Rumble was fantastic. It was something I won't forget.
"I'd still like to do something with CM Punk in the future. I think we've got a chapter that's still open. Originally it was going to be me and Punk, but it turned out to be me and Hunter.
"I knew that I wasn't allowed to go off the script in those promos. I think he had a little more leeway than I did.
"I came in as a heel. I didn't ask the people to look at me in any way as a tweener. My job was to come in and be a heel. I think I did my job well.
"I didn't look for any kind of admiration from the fans. My job wasn't to be funny, it was to be a nemesis, and that's what I did.
"I've had my run. At this point if I can do something to assist somebody to bring them up a rung on the ladder and make the perception that they are a bigger star than they are or give them a little bit of a bump to make sure they become a bigger star, that's my job now.
"My job's not to be a world champion. I can't go out there and work 300 days a year, and if you can't work 300 days a year you can't be in that spot.
"I'm a realist. I know my days are numbered in this business, but I think I'll always be a part of it. There's nothing that defines me more than professional wrestling. I still love it."
Despite being absent since December's TLC pay-per-view, Kevin insists he is he is not done with the business.
He has a legends contract with WWE and does not even rule out one more TNA run if the stars were all to align.
Nash added: "I'm not saying I wouldn't go back. It's only 50 miles from my house!
"If they had something for me and they needed me, I might go back and do it. Right now I'm starting to get bored!"

FORMER WCW and WWF star Lance Storm expects the WWE title match at Wrestlemania to be 'spectacular'.
Canadian hero Storm broke into the business with Chris Jericho over twenty years ago after they both trained at the Hart Brothers wrestling school in Calgary.
The pair went on to form a team called The Thrillseekers and perform all over the world.
Storm, now semi-retired, runs a training school called Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary and was visited by Jericho before he returned to WWE in January.
Jericho will challenge CM Punk for the WWE championship at Mania on April 1 and Storm reckons the match has all the makings of a possible classic encounter.
Speaking exclusively to SunSport, the 42-year-old said: "I think Jericho and Punk are really going to knock people's socks off.
"When Chris came up to Calgary to chip off the ring rust before his latest return, he knew at that point where it was going and he and I pitched ideas and threw stuff back and forth.
"There's a good chance that there will be spots that will end up being in the match that I actually did with him in Calgary several months ago. It's well laid groundwork.
"The fact that he has had this seed planted in his mind for several months, I'm expecting it to be quite spectacular.
"He is someone who has a full grasp on the industry and is putting out when he feels is the best build and the best product. Not 'what can I best do for me'.
"He really is a consummate pro and really knows the ins and outs of what makes a great match.
"He's really, really spectacular and I expect this to be really standout."
Busy with his training school and content not to undertake the gruelling travel schedule top wrestlers have to endure, Storm is happy to only occasionally strap on his wrestling boots.
On Wrestlemania weekend, though, in Florida, he will be making a rare wrestling appearance in taking on Mike Bennett for top Indy promotion Ring of Honor.
Bennett is the real-life boyfriend of stunning former WWE diva Maria Kanellis, who also accompanies her man for his matches in ROH.
The match will take place at ROH's Showdown in the Sun iPPV, and Lance says that he is only accepting the bout because he rates Bennett highly.
Storm said: "I'm very choosy about who I work with now. Since I wrapped up the full-time career I only work with people I'm interested in working with.
"He's got a ton of talent. I think he stands out a little more in Ring of Honor in that he tends to work his own style and be a bit different than the other Ring of Honor guys.
"Having Maria there is an interesting twist too, in that I was the first person who started training her when she got hired by WWE. It should be a lot of fun.
"I'm not coming back to have a match that just blends into the card and doesn't stand out.
"I plan on really putting in a huge effort and having a standout performance on that show despite how great the rest of the card is going to be."
After calling time on his full-time in-ring career in 2004, Storm worked for OVW — WWE's former developmental territory in Ohio — where he helped to train several wrestlers who now adorn our screens on a weekly basis.
One of the standouts of the group Storm tutored in OVW was Dolph Ziggler, who many have compared to legends such as Shawn Michaels and Curt Hennig and have tipped for the top in the future.
Storm agrees that Ziggler could be a major star someday, but warns he must be careful not to damage himself along the way.
He added: "Dolph was a quick learner right out of the gate. I pretty much had him from scratch.
"I worked with him for almost a year in OVW and it wasn't too long after that he made his debut with the Spirit Squad.
"You can just imagine how nervous he must have been with only about a year of training behind him and not a whole lot of experience.
"He was in the ring with Triple H and Shawn Michaels doing a feud with DX.
"I keep having to remind him to be careful, because when you are throwing around names like Shawn Michaels and Curt Hennig, you also have to remember that both of them had very bad backs that hampered their career.
"I keep reminding him that while it's great to take amazing bumps, you don't have to do so on every single move."

WRESTLING legend John Layfield has hit back at critics of John Cena.
Former WWE grappler Layfield — known as Bradshaw — lost to him at Wrestlemania 21 back in 2005.
That defeat ushered in Cena's first world title reign and set the tone for him to become one of the industry's biggest stars.
But Layfield claims he always knew his fellow American was destined for the very top.
He said: "I knew Cena could be the guy, there was no doubt in my mind. What he's done is just phenomenal.
"I could not be happier for him. He's one of the most hard working guys I have ever seen, who just has a knack for this business.
"I hear that he can't wrestle — he can wrestle. Drawing a crowd is working. I think he's done a wonderful job.
"What do you want? A guy that can go out there and do a bunch of seamless wristlocks and anklelocks, or do you want a guy who is going to put a bunch of people in seats and entertain them?
"To me a guy who can entertain is a great worker. I don't understand why purists would say that he wasn't one on any level, because I think he is."
Cena will collide with The Rock in the main event at Wrestlemania 28 this weekend in Miami.
The pair have been locked in a bitter feud for months but will finally settle their differences at the Sun Life Stadium.
Layfield added: "I see all this stuff on Twitter going back between The Rock and Cena.
"It's awesome what these guys are doing. Everbody's talking about it. Whether they really feel that way or not, I have no idea, because I don't have privileged information.
"But to me it's entertaining. As a fan, I just want to sit back and say 'this is fun to watch'."
Since hanging up his tights, Layfield resides in Bermuda and devotes much of his life to helping underprivileged children.
He revealed: "I'm doing a fundraiser called Seven Summits For Kids.
"I'm going to climb the tallest peak on every continent — or at least I'm going to try to!
"I start this summer, on June 17, climbing Mount Elbrus in the Russian Caucasus Mountains.
"I'm paying for the trips. 100 per cent of money raised goes directly to the kids. Not one dime goes to me for travel or anything.
"Hopefully I'll place a Bermudan flag on each of the Seven Summits — if I live, that is!"

You have to think Cena vs Rock given the amount of hype it's recieved.
Cripps_orig
27-03-2012, 06:24 PM
But if Triple H v Undertaker, then you can pretty much guarantee Undertaker wont lose as there is no way his streak will be lost in anything other than the main event.
Whereas if you put it on last, its 50/50
Anyway a shame the tag titles wont be defended as well. Then again the tag champions, Primo and the other dude were squashed by Big Show on Raw
That division has died.
Speaking of Show, has he ever won at a WM? Cody makes me laugh. Hes pretty good.
Orton v Kane, as good as Orton is might stink up the place.
After 365 days of build-up, it would look pretty silly if Cena - Rock didn't close the show. (Of course, even then people will still tweet Lineker in complaint at them being on last...)
Still not sure where Punk - Jericho comes in, but if that does open the event (which I am not necessarily opposed to as long as they are given plenty of time), then the last run will be:
Seamus - Bryan
HITC
Divas' piss-break/sandwich-make-moment
Rock - Cena

RIC FLAIR will appear at the Four Horsemen's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame this WrestleMania weekend in Miami.
Reports claim TNA and the WWE have reached an agreement on the current TNA roster member's role.
The Horseman group of Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham and J.J. Dillon will be inducted by the legendary Dusty Rhodes.
The 16-time world heavyweight champion is already a member of the elite HOF, first being inducted in 2008.
He was then the only active wrestler to receive the accolade.
And his subsequent retriement did not last long and he is still a semi-active grappler in TNA.
The Nature Boy led the Four Horsemen stable in NWA/WCW during the 1980s and the group was one of the most dominant of its type.
Members regularly held the companies' top gold.
It now seems only fair that this faction and their perennial leader get inducted en mass.
The WWE controversially announced Flair's induction alongside the Four Horsemen before receiving clearance from his current employers TNA.
But any issues seem to have been cleared up and Flair will now join his peers on the biggest stage of them all this weekend.
Flair said: "Being inducted once was one of the greatest accomplishments of my career.
"I'm humbled and honoured to be recognised again. I wouldn't miss the ceremony for the world."
TNA President Dixie Carter added: "We are proud of Ric's many accomplishments and contributions he has made to the world of professional wrestling and beyond.
"We wish to congratulate him on yet another honour he truly deserves."
Terms of the agreement are at present unknown but it is a major deal for all concerned.
It shows that rival companies TNA and WWE can work together for the greater good if need be.
WrestleMania is this Sunday at midnight on Sky Box Office.

WHEN it comes to Wrestlemania, few could be considered to be more synonymous with WWE's biggest event than the legendary Bret Hart.
The Hitman took part in 12 of the first 13 events and had iconic matches with the likes of Shawn Michaels, Roddy Piper and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
So who better for SunSport to call to get some exclusive thoughts on this year's biggest matches at this year's event?
Below are Bret's views and predictions for this Sunday's show, which can be seen live on Sky Box Office at midnight.
The Rock v John Cena
Hart: "The build-up has been quite good. The Rock seems like not only is he looking in great form, but he is looking in great form. At the same time Cena has been classic cena. I'm quite intrigued to see what happens.
"It's been well done — in a lot of ways quite riveting. The key to a great match is the question mark over who is going to win.
"It puts me in mind of my match with The British Bulldog at Wembley Stadium at Summerslam '92. When we were stood in the ring I think they were trying to wrack their brains as to figure out who was going to win.
"I think Cena's going to come out on top because I think he's the franchise guy right now. I can't see them taking a chance on a guy that wrestles once a year.
"They've got all the mileage they can out of guys like Cena and Orton. They've been on top for a long time and it's hard to stay on top in that position forewrver. I think Randy's getting a taste of that now.
"I wouldn't be the least bit surprise if Cena has some sort of role reversal — the fact that all the fans are against him so much.
"I can't see him being a villain or a heel, but at the same time wouldn't that totally blow everyone away?
"Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it will be Rock that turns heel or something else but I'm fascinated by what direction they might go with Cena and Rock."
CM Punk v Chris Jericho
Hart: "Even more than the Rock/Cena match I'm being geared up for the Punk/Jericho match. They should have the match of the show.
"Jericho has come back and looks in great form. Punk has a lot of imagination and ingenuity, a lot of great moves and great ring psychology. Jericho is a wily old veteran who has been up and down the roads. He can turn it on when he needs to.
"This is a really good opportunity to steal the show. They both seem very focused, and have a lot of imagination and ability.
"It's all about the wrestling. Punk really feels he is in the prime of his life. He really believes in his heart that he is the best wrestler in the world today.
"That's what that match is about — hype or no hype. There is a lot of personal incentive for these guys to steal the show from Rock and Cena and have everyone walking out of Wrestlemania talking about Punk and Jericho. My gut feeling is that they'll succeed in that.
"I think Punk will win, it's why I like that match the most. There's a really good question mark over who is going to win and where it's going to go afterwards."
Undertaker v Triple H
Hart: "I expect it to be pretty good. Undertaker has such a strong ring presence and a towering personality.
"I don't see Triple H breaking the record. For Undertaker, it's just of question of — once he beats Triple H — whether he retires right after the match or decides to go another year. It might depend on what kind of match it is.
"This could be as big a match as Triple H has ever had, but I've already cleared it in my head that Undertaker will win. I don't see a lot of suspense in it.
"But Triple H has been around a long time. He's had a lot of time to think about this match and he might have some tricks up his sleeve as far as moves and psychology."
Sheamus v Daniel Bryan
Hart: "Sheamus has turned out to be the star the company has been looking for. He is building a lot of momentum and seems to have a strong fanbase now. His babyface turn has blossomed pretty well for him.
"But Daniel Bryan is the best pound-for-pound wrestler right now working in the business. It's an interesting match-up. My gut tells me Sheamus has too much momentum.
"Whatever the outcomes, the fans will accept them. What wrestling fans want more is great storytelling and cool endings.
"Finishes that they haven't seen a million times over. Knowing a lot of the wrestlers involved this year, they are all serious, focused professionals. I'm sure they will do everything they can to leave as strong a mark as they can."
You can listen to Bret's full thoughts on Wrestlemania, including some memories of his own Mania matches & thoughts on this year's Hall of Fame, in a 30+ minute interview on Rob McNichol's One Sided Ring podcast.

I hope Cena does come out of it as a full-on heel. Although that would probably mean screwing The Rock and I'm not sure how wise it would be for that to happen in his home town.
Can't wait to see how it ends. I think Cena will win but I don't see it being clean. Unless The Rock is willing to "pass the torch" so to speak.

Just read the results
Shocking start. Unless Daniel Bryan has injured himself or is being punished for something, i dont see the point in that. Arguably the best pound for pound wrestler in WWE.
Kane won clean which surprised me
Big Show is the new IC champ
Then came the womens match which was probably more shocking than anything.
The streak continues  or is this the end? Surely he'll retire now? After what seemed like a pretty awful first hour of the show, i guess this match made it better.
Laurinitis is the GM of both shows. What happens to Long?
Punk won as expected. Cant see Jericho going on for much longer.
Rock beat Cena. Will we see Rock again? Heel turn for Cena?
Also all these rumours about Brock werent true then i assume?
Marc Overmars
02-04-2012, 07:13 AM
The Rock.
He's still got it for sure. I'm also glad it was clean and now hopefully they turn Cena heel. Hasn't The Rock signed up for another year as well?
20-0 seems like a good place for Undertaker to go out, but of course it wouldn't be a surprise if he turned up for WM next year.
The first half of the card did seem rushed, but it meant the main event matches got a decent amount of time. Enjoyed it, much better than last year.
Speaking of rushed, what was the world title match all about?
Bryan or Sheamus can't have been happy with that decision.

Cena was clearly better than the rock and was the underdog so I think he should have won, but they played the hometown card instead.
Also the team match result was both predictable and tiresome. John fucking laurenitus as gm of smackdown and raw?!? give me a fucking break, sick of seeing that monotone twat already.

Reading up about the Bryan v Sheamus match. Apparently its been planned for weeks. No idea why though. I see no injury mentioned.
I hope Vince is going somewhere with this cos otherwise hes just degrading the belt, his main show and his wrestlers
Didn't see it, but read enough reports to feel like I did  I have also read some stupid comments - "worse than WM 9" being the stupidest. Can't really argue with the results, and there are plenty of options going forward. The fall-out on RAW will be very interesting.

Harsh on WM9 tbh
Ending was the best ever
If Cena had won, then they might as well have retired him. He would have done everything there is to do.
At least his character has somewhere to go now. or at least, it should. It's still more than likely they will do something that have him inserted into a triple-threat title match with Jericho and Punk* at Extreme Rules, with four weeks of goofball exaggerated forced face promos and him going on to the win the thing...
*Add stipulations in the weeks you have to build-up to the match, not two minutes before it next time!!Still sounds like they worked around it very well though(no surprise)
Aftermath of HITC sounded very final - but I don't think we've seen the end of UT at WM just yet.... After all, still plenty more Metallica tracks to get through first

I don't think it was quite the Match of the Year contender they were hoping it would be, the crowd were really dull for the first 15 minutes and that doesn't ever help. It was still very good though.
And I think it's just because Vince is a WUM.

Indeed. It had "I've got a good idea.." written all over it. According to the usually very accurate Bryan Alvarez at Wrestling Observer, many in the front office tried to dissuade him... I admire their chutzpah if nothing else

HHH vs Taker was match of the night for sure, really did seem like closure on the attitude era. HBK was a good ref as well, brought a lot of emotion to it. I thought the streak was gone when he superkicked Taker and he then fell into the Pedigree. Of course he was always going to kick out though!

I'd imagine he'll be back for Summerslam, he'd need to have a more regular role to justify it. Unless he works two PPVs I suppose. Wins at Summerslam and then loses it at Night of Champions, for instance.
