Would be a perfect signing for us.

Another midfielder.

Soon we'll have a midfielder for every position

I don't believe it would actually happen but Martinez is a fine player and Guardiola does seem to fancy Lahm playing there....

Not sure why Bender still comes up.... we put in a significant bid for him that was out rightly rejected. I don't know that he is so good that Wenger would buck the trend of a lifetime and continue to pursue him.

Chances of signing him nominal

But that's simply because it sounds too good to be true

Wenger acknowledging that Arteta is not a defensive midfielder and should not be allowed to play for us anymore, plus sufficient centre back cover.

It's too much of an obviously useful signing for Wenger to go for it

Very good player and would significantly change our team. Kind of white Yaya Toure .

Would welcome him or Bender in a position we need a greater talent in.....come next season....Arteta needs to stay though

He would be a top signing and a significant upgrade on Arteta/Flamini.

They're very different players tbh. Martinez doesn't make freight train like runs and comb goals in from 25 yards.

We already have the white Yaya in Ramsey.

I would have thought Morgan Schzendhuhfornog at Soton is better suite for us IMO. :coffee:

Can't see Arsene spending upwards of 30million on a Defensive Midfielder. Nothing to see here...next? ;)

Don't forget we have Diaby who can play there. He`ll be just like a new signing next season

Don't expect him to score 20 league goals..... Shielding the back line, remaining disciplined and distributing the ball with a high rate of success will do.

If it ain't white Yaya it ain't right Yaya.

Interesting one. His role is less certain under Guardiola than it was under Heynckes and I imagine he will continue to play Lahm in that role. Plus if he signed off on the Eto'o/Zlatan deal he isn't above making nuts decisions.

I don't see him as AM or DM, I see him as a midfielder a la Ramsey.

If we lose the 1st game of next season or get battered by one of the top side early on next season then some of these names will become realistic, until then Ligue 1 nobodies should be what we focus on.
