We normally do get past the first match in the league cup but we've got a tough opponent this year. Southampton are playing well (despite the exodus) and don't need to worry about resting players as much as we do.

Unless Wenger is prepared to play Hayden at CB it will probably mean one of Per or Kos being forced to play.

They did. In fact it was the senior tippy tappy crew that killed us. Everything through the middle, always looking for that sliderule pass, always leaving the defence exposed when the 51st pass of an intended 93 pass move breaks down and presents the opposition with a clean break. Very irritating. Wenger must like it though because we keep on doing it, over and over and over.

To be honest before tonight, I would have taken the loss today for the win at Villa. We had a great weekend guys, Liverpool, Man Ure, Everton losing and the Gypos and the Chavs drawing. We havent got the a big enough squad to take on 2 competitions let alone 4, well 3 now. We dont need the FA cup either. This season we shoul dput all our focus on winning the league. I still dont see the Gypos or Chelsea that much better than us, the Uefa Chumps league run to the last 16 would be good, but the premiership should be our main goal this season. Its been too long since we were last champions, and boy did I used to enjoy siniging that in the North Bank, which seems like light years ago.
