Predictions?
Djokovic and Serena. I'd go for Azarenka, but she's a bigger crock than Woolthshare.

Wawrinka blunders through 4-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 against 59th ranked Rosol.

Muzza is 4-2 up in the fourth set but held over until tomorrow.
Murray finished the job off 6-3, 7-5. Plonker.
Azarenka has not long retired from her match with Karine Knapp.
Konta and Robson have both been knocked out
And the Terminator went through in three easy sets against Lu.

FFS Murray sort it out!
Murray was 6-2, 2-0 up against world number 164, Mathias Bourgue.
Now it’s 6-2, 2-6, 4-6
 doesn’t cover it
Murray takes the fourth, 6-2.
Another five setter, won eventually by Murray.
6-2, 2-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3
Watson lost 6-1, 6-3 to Kuznetsova.
Wawrinka through 7-6, 6-3, 6-4

What is Muzza on? He's going to go out early unless he picks it up.
He is a notoriously slow starter but not this bad. A week after he says he's ready for the French now
Murray off to a better start against Karlovic, 4-0, first set.
6-1 first set, Karlovic broken in the first game of the second set, 2-0 Muzza.
6-1 6-4 7-6 (7-3) far easier this time round for Murray.
Nadal withdraws, citing an ongoing wrist problem
:rose:
Gasquet up 6-2, 7-6 against Kyrgios.
Job finished in straight sets, 6-2 in the third.

Sad for Nadal though, wrist injuries are awful in this profession.
With Fed and Nad struggling with injuries more and more, this Golden era is very near to officially ending :(
Robotovic through as expected in three easy sets today.
Williams through and Halep plays tomorrow, which will most likely be the final.
Ferrer through and Tsonga retires in the first set, 5-2 up.
Troicki and Wawrinka battling it out at the moment, 6-7, 7-6.
Troicki almost ballsed up a double mini break in the tie break, before taking the second.
Wawrinka getting his game together and will most likely take the third set in a game or two.
Muzza on against Isner.
Tie-break in the first set between Muzza and Isner. 3-0 Muzza, should wrap this up.
Muzza tries his best to blow it in full on muttering mad man mode, 6-6, one more serve from Isner.
Set point Muzza again, 8-7.
10-9 Muzza, Isner on serve
Muzza takes the first set, 7-6 (11-9)
Muzza takes the next two sets, 6-4, 6-3, into the quarters most likely to face Gasquet who is two sets up against Nishikori, potentially facing Wawrinka in the semi.
Djok down a set against Bautista-Agu, 3-6 and then play stopped for rain :banghead:
Stosur 3-1-up against Halep in the second set, after taking the first 7-6.
Finally getting some play and Botovic is back on his game ffs. Agu broken in his first service game, 1-1, second set.

Some prime clowning from Murray here.
Cruising and serving for the set at 5-3, he introduces the usual concentration drop to proceedings. He then goes drop-shot crazy and hands all momentum to Gasquet as he loses the set 7-5.
Utter idiocy from Murray. It'll serve him right if further rain delays ruin his chances.

01-06-2016, 01:29 PM

it's so surreal for Nadal not to win this tournament two seasons in a row, Roland Garros has always been his playground
Don't get me wrong, i'm glad........ Federer beating Robin Soderling on Phillipe Chatrier to become French Open champion in 2009 is probably one of my happiest sporting memories.
Muzza determined to go 0-30 in almost every service game. Doing a great job of it too.
Master Splinter
01-06-2016, 02:21 PM
I think he just wants to troll Gasquet with another win from two sets down.
It's the only explanation for this idiocy. He should be winning this in straight sets by now.

Wawrinka giving Ramos-Vinolas a hammering 6-2 6-1 while Muzza pubs it up good and proper.
Gasquet has not been great and Muzza is gifting him this so far. How many chances does he want?

Murray takes the second set tie-break 7-3.
He'll probably pull ahead now comfortably.
Only to throw in a slack game when serving for the match which will allow Gasquet to somehow take it to a fifth.

Just come back to my desk from doing work elsewhere and find that Murray has taken third set with a bagel
Gasquet broken in the fourth, Muzza to serve 2-1 up.
Wawrinka through, so looks like the semi to watch.
Muzza through, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3), 6-0, 6-2.
Wawrinka up next and Andy needs to wake the fuck up if he wants a final berth.
As expected, the Terminator is walking through Berdych.
Currently 6-3, 7-5, 3-2
6-3 final set, pretty much a by to the final. Although he did throw his racket behind him, almost hitting a judge which would've meant disqualification. Stupid bloody umpire.
All comes down to Wawrinka and Muzza to battle it out for runners-up spot in this years final.
Thiem leads 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 against David Goffin in the remaining quarter.
Thiem, the world number 110, goes through in four sets to lose to Djok in the semi.
Serena loses the first set to Putintseva and her first service game of the second set
Back to depressing reality.
Serena wins 6-4 second set, 3-0 up in the third.

Another Djokovic-Wawrinka final?
Muzza breaks Stan in the third game, 2-1 on his serve.
Serena and Muguruza into the women's final.
Almost a double break for the Muzz but Stan holds. 4-3, Murray to serve.
He's bang on his game while Wawrinka has forgotten how to serve.
First set to Muzza, 6-4, after saving 3 break points.
Best match of the tournament so far.
As expected Botovic sleepwalking through his semi, 6-2, 6-1 so far.

You have to feel sorry for Murray for the era of Tennis he's come into
Overall hes probably not as good as Federer, Djokovic or even Nadal but he's miles ahead of the others
And even with Federer and Nadal falling by the wayside, he is up against the Serbian machine who is playing in his Sixth consecutive Grand Slam final. Federer managed ten consecutive finals to put it into perspective.
Or he may not have reached this level without that level of competition to aim for. To be included in the top four players of this period is high praise and he has more than held his ground against the other three. He's won a healthy amount of Masters 1000's too.
He has messed up a lot of chances himself because of his lapses in concentration and his temperament on court eats away at him too much. He should of had at least 2/3 more slams to his name by now. Seven final losses aren't all down to his opponent.

It's all relative but compared to Federer and Nadal he is, it's one of the reasons Nadal often had the better of their matches until recently because he mentally outlasted Djokovic.

Can only hope his motivation may wane now he has achieved the Career Slam. Unlikely though I guess.
Great to see Djokovic achieve this, great player and has beaten the best consistently over the last few years and proved he's the best around, long may it continue.
Murray has improved a lot too, 2nd best in the world at the moment, Federer for me has won his last grandslam and Nadal doesn't look like the player he once was, his exhausting style has caught up with his body and he can no longer do the things he once could.
