View Full Version : What team would you start the season with?

I'd be seriously tempted to start Ryo, from what I've seen of him he looks like he could be a Gareth Bale of sorts for us. I'd go for:
Scenzeny
Sagna Vermaelen Kos Gibbs
Song
Fab Nasri
Gervinho RvP Ryo
Same team as you except Walcott instead of Ryo up front.
If he gets a W/P he can be eased into the team slowly, used as an impact sub etc.
Walcott + Gervinho/Ryo should give us pace up front in spades, something we've been lacking heavily. With Wilshere/Ramsey to come in MF when needed, there is reasonable strength in depth actually.
Desperately need some defenders though as that left side looks very weak.
SXCy
Sagna Djourou Verms Gibbs
Song
Walcott Wilshere Nasri Arshavin
RVP
Fabianski
Sagna DJ Verms Gibbs
Song Wilshere
Gervinho Cesc Nas
RVP
You can rule out Gibbs now, someone will brush past him and he'll collapse in a crumpled heap and be out for 6 weeks.
There's matchstick houses which are less brittle than him.
Whatever team we pick from what we've got at the moment, it's not really good enough.
lol. so miserable
Not miserable at all to be honest, just realistic.....pretty much the same team that bottled it badly at the end of the season and got beaten and held by some awful teams.
Not really looking forward to the season anyway, haven't missed the football that much as it's just not that enjoyable to watch these days. No excitement around the place either.
just answer the thread question instead of droning on

Hope he sorts the injury problems out.
He's certainly been putting in some effort at the gym. You seen the size of the guy in the training pics. He's gone from a waif to a fucking beast in a couple of months.

If this is the squad we have at the start of the season and lets face, it probably will be other than some leaving and if it was injury free  then my team would be
Sir Chesney :(
Sagna :) Djourou :( Vermaelen Gibbs :(
Walcott :) Song :( Cesc :( Nasri :) Gervinho :(
RVP
In short, we're fucked
Id have put a smiley after Verm and RVP but can only do 10 images in a post so lets just say the juries out on them. We can do better in both of their positions but id be happy enough if both started the season with us
New GW is having a shocker

I cant see him starting just yet. . .he definitely showed promise on loan and it doesnt look like he is going back out there

He'll be fine, Statinho got one under the proviso of an exceptional talent. Although I guess that is unfortunately accurate.

Very surprised at some of the line ups that have been posted.
Chesney
Sagna Djourou Vermaelen Gibbs
Song
Wilshere Nasri
Walcott Fabregas Arshavin
RVP
Subs: Fabianski, Kos, Ramsey, Gervinho, Chamakh, Rosicky & Eboue
So who do we have up front, I make it Vela, RVP and Chamakh...we still have Bendtner but obviously reports claim he's on his way out.
Not exactly a great choise though is it, ideally I'd like to play 2 up front and that doesn't include players who aren't really out and out forwards like Walcott, Gervinho and Arshavin.

:o
The sad thing is I counted to make sure I named 11 players a couple of times and was sure I only named 11.

Depends.
Against Newcastle I'd stick Vermalen-Djourou as the partnership unless we get Samba and then play Vermaelen at LB but ordinarily:
Sczesfn
Sagna Koscielny Vermaelen Gibbs/Jenkinson
Song Wilshere Nasri
Theo RvP Gervinho
With switchable roles for Diaby when we need more height/stupidity and Rosicky when we need a little more work and nous.

I still have hope for Diaby, unlike for Denilson, Bendy, Almunia and Vela he can be effective against rough teams, but mainly a bench player. We still need at least one center-back though so at the moment my ideal team would be-
Chesney
Sagna DJ/Kosielney Verminator Gibbs
-------------Song-------Wilshere---------------
Walcott/Gervinho----Fabregas------Nasri
----------------------RVP--------------------
Subject to complete change according to transfers and injuries. In fact, this team could well never happen.

haha Djourou. He looks like a gay lion.
Arshavin-- RVP --Vela --Walcott
Nasri-- Ramsey-- Cesc-- Gervinho
--Song ------- Sagna--
-------- Chesney-------
We're an offensive team, why bother with defence :coffee:
