Ok so i have been downloading rare songs from Youtube (As i cant get them anywhere else)using musiczilla. However i still then need to convert the FLV file to MP3 for itunes.
I have been using "freez" but it now wants me to pay for using it! the bloody nerve.
Anyone know of one i can just use for free?

keepvid.com does an MP3 download I believe. Faster then doing it yourself.

No you don't, that's the desktop utility you have to pay for. Just stick the YouTube URL into the search box, allow the Java applet to run and you'll get downloads for all the available formats including MP3.

Just tried it, it's free and used the SnipMP3 service. So I guess you could go direct and skip KeepVid - http://snipmp3.com (http://snipmp3.com/)

There are quite a few of those.. just google 'Youtube to Mp3'. Now, is the process of 'acquiring' a song by conversion from FLV to mp3 considered illegal?

Depends who owns the song. Any of those services will tell you in the terms it should only be used with video owned by you or for which you have prior permission to download, store, blah. So you can use it legally or illegally, up to you.

No they don't charge unless you buy the desktop version. Just use the free service which runs via the browser so it doesn't matter if you are using XP, Win7 or a Mac.

Don't know if you haven't found a new site already, but this one - http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ - which i've just found is great. Converts it online, then gives you a link to download the mp3 version. Super quick and free :good:
