Word to the wise - check the care instructions label. It will say something like "hand wash only in baby tears". If you don't they'll shrink or run and you'll be dragged round the shops on a Saturday afternoon whilst she chooses a new pair. During this five hour torture you'll be asked "Does my bum look big in this". Trust me if you're too slow with a reassuirng answer then you'll be on short rations for months.Never take anything she says at face value. [QUOTE=Letters;124227]

Too many people trying to be PC and not thinking for themselves. Like in this case - the cake was made by a black guy to make a point and the goody-two-shoes PC brigade are claiming it is racist.
Same as when Nigeria did the big Gas company and called it 'Niggas'. There was a load of self-righteous outrage even when it was pointed out that this was a black country full of Nig black guys naming their own company and not interested in what terminology is used in US an UK places.

If you've done 5 days, you've actually done the hardest stretch. This weekend, though, watch out for where you are - where you would normally smoke. At least now you can't smoke inside a pub which was how I got caught out first time I tried to give up.
Good luck though - it might be a struggle for the first couple of weeks but it is well worth it in the end. :good:

I have trouble with them trying to find a decent vein in my right arm which is what they normally go for. The left they have no trouble with. Not uncommon, apparently. Go again and ask them to try the other side.

Ah well. Half day on Friday
:good:

I really need to sort out a tour of the Emirates, never did get around to doing the Higbury one although we did the thing where if you got the redcurrant shirt on the first weekend you could go into the changing rooms and down the tunnel. Not quite the same but saw some of the same stuff.

Question
Does anyone work or know of anyone who works for Uniqlo?
I am seriously thinking of applying for a management position there, however I am in Japan and am trying to do some groundwork......it would be a big decision if I was to up anchor and bring the fam back home so any help would be appreciated.
I am not sure what people's opinions of the company, maybe bad because it is so cheap but it makes sense for me cos it is Japanese and it would give me a chance to remain in contact with the country/language etc - sorry for the novel!
EDIT: @ Letts.
Cannae do it captain. I have nae got the money.
Holiday pennies being saved....am in London that week for a gig too, so will be a quiet one watching it in the boozer.

Went to give blood for the first time today.
Turns out the woman had got the wrong vein which would explain why she was jabbing at it for about 5 minutes. She had a few goes at it before giving up.
So my number of blood donations stays at 0.
Anyone else ever given blood before? Successfully...
39 times but not always successfully - once had a smelly fat guy who I swear farted as he was inserting the needle into my arm then schmoozed off leaving me blood spattered and holding my nose.
However, please try again - Most of the people are very good at getting veins and I've found it very rewarding giving blood over the last 20 odd years, my daughter has been doing it for 10 years too. - You might find it a better experience going to a static donation centre rather than an ad hoc visiting one, less time spent there too.
Handy!! :smooch:
You alright?

Given plenty
Worst time was they couldnt find a vein and were about to use a vein on my foot which they said would be painful so i told them to try on arm one more time and in the 10th go, blood flowed
You missed the point - You're talking about a blood test which is not the same thing - when I'm taking a blood test I can take it from anywhere on the body (within reason) - but blood donations are only taken from the brachials in the arms.

Oh look, it's raining again!
Normally I find weather talk tedious but it has to be said - the past couple of weeks have been so fucking annoying and weird. Just now it was chucking down, 2 mins later it's bright sunshine. And it keeps going. Such spazzy weather.
The sudden down pours disable you from getting so much done.
Little things checking your phone. Slows you down cycling. It's a lot worse than freezing cold weather (provided it's not snow). Genuinely pissed off about it. It's 27th April ffs.
