Off to see Life Of Pi at the cinema in town then we'll have a meal and see if we can go into my office which overlooks the London Eye and Big Ben to see the fireworks out of the cold and without having to stand for 10 hours to get a good view with a load of drunks.
If we can't go to the office then...dunno, probably go home and watch them on TV or summat

Well. They wouldn't let me in at work. Me :pal:

But we had a nice evening anyway, watched Life of Pi (weird but quite good) then after being told we wouldn't be allowed in to work we had a meal at the Thai Square next to Trafalgar Square (nomnomnom) then went out into the square for the fireworks which were spectacular as always. It was less of a drunk arsehole convention than I'd expected actually. Getting home was a bit of a palaver, we walked to Holborn and were shut out tantalisingly close to the gates. I thought we'd only be there 5 minutes while they cleared congestion but it was more like half an hour. And we 2 Piccadilly Line trains terminated short of Oakwood so we had to get 3 trains home. Still, was an adventure. Not one I'd repeat every year but I'd do it again some time.

Overweight or unhealthy people who refuse to attend exercise sessions could have their benefits slashed, in a move proposed by Westminster Council.

GPs would also be allowed to prescribe leisure activities such as swimming and fitness classes under the idea.

The Tory-controlled council said the aim was to save £5bn from the NHS budget when local authorities take over public health provision from April.

“[Australia] is the home of the largest living thing on earth, the Great Barrier Reef, and of the largest monolith, Ayers Rock (or Uluru to use its now-official, more respectful Aboriginal name). It has more things that will kill you than anywhere else. Of the world's ten most poisonous snakes, all are Australian. Five of its creatures - the funnel web spider, box jellyfish, blue-ringed octopus, paralysis tick, and stonefish - are the most lethal of their type in the world. This is a country where even the fluffiest of caterpillars can lay you out with a toxic nip, where seashells will not just sting you but actually sometimes go for you. ... If you are not stung or pronged to death in some unexpected manner, you may be fatally chomped by sharks or crocodiles, or carried helplessly out to sea by irresistible currents, or left to stagger to an unhappy death in the baking outback. It's a tough place.”

Letters

That depends whether you think it will increase more or start to go down again. And the answer is no-one knows, but a rising trend is a better time to invest than a falling one...
