The 4 top ranked sides will be seeded

On this occasion though, the probable play-off playing teams will be of a similar level anyway. Should be good.

Possible participants
Group A - Belgium or Turkey
Group B - Ireland or Armenia
Group C - Estonia or Serbia
Group D - France or Bosnia
Group E - Sweden or Hungary (Sweden atm are the best runners up so will qualify automatically if it stays that way)
Group F - Greece or Croatia
Group G - Montenegro
Group H - Portugal, Denmark or Norway
Group I - Scotland or Czechs
Id say the contenders likely are Turkey, Ireland, Serbia, Bosnia, Sweden, Croatia, Montenegro, Denmark and Czechs
One of those will qualify as best runners up (Probably Sweden)

If it is those eight sides (assuming Sweden go through anyway) pretty tough call of who will win no matter who they end up facing.

If it happens, I want Ireland to get France.
I also want a compentent and principled referee.

This is the most relevant thread for the main draw in a month or so given we don't need a thread, yet and we don't even have any play-offs to talk about.
Just realised that in Pot 1 will be Poland, Ukraine, Spain and the Netherlands. Germany, Italy and England in Pot 2 and France will probably end up being in Pot 3 should they make it.
Spain, England and France in the same group would be pretty funny.

Just checked the best runners up table.
Its actually Denmark who go in to the last round of games in top spot.
When i looked last night, the Portugal v Iceland hadnt finished yet so the table hadnt included the update yet
Denmark have Portugal at home next

I read somewhere that the top four best qualified teams will be seeded. Not sure if it is true or not.

Its true
Actually i re read your post.
Its the top 4 highest ranked teams who will be seeded
McNamara That Ghost...
11-10-2011, 07:29 PM
That'd make more sense given it's UEFA. But then I suppose them doing something stupid sounds like UEFA too.
Cripps_orig
11-10-2011, 08:53 PM
So the 8 teams are
Turkey, Ireland, Estonia, Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro, Portugal, Czechs
Sweden are through
If the 4 highest ranked teams are seeded then its Portugal, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro.
Unseeded - Turkey, Ireland, Czechs and Estonia
Portugal v Ireland

According to Wiki it will be:
Portugal, Croatia, Ireland and Bosnia in Pot 1.

Another hand ball to knock Ireland out?
Nah, they'll get a replay.
Fivelive's programme ends with them having no idea either. FFS just stick them in a hat. Of the teams there only Portugal are a t-shirt selling proposition, so they don't even need the seeding excuse for their four favourites this time

True, true. We'll get someone to do it on FIFA.

Shouldn't really be any seedings for this, they all finished in the same position.

No - that's not impossible. There aren't many Barca players in the French team so UEFA won't give a toss.

THE Republic of Ireland have been seeded for tomorrow's Euro 2012 play-off draw, along with Portugal, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
The four teams were chosen based on their national team coefficients ahead of the draw in Krakow.
Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia and Montenegro are the four unseeded teams.
The first leg of the play-offs will be played on November 11 and 12, with the return legs on November 15.
Already through to the finals, alongside co-hosts Poland and Ukraine, are holders Spain, Germany, Russia, Italy, France, Holland, Greece, England, Denmark and Sweden.
The finals draw is on December 2 in Kiev, with the tournament running from June 8 until July 1 next year at eight venues.

Portugal face Bosnia again then after the World Cup play offs. Ireland were always going to get Estonia after what happened 2 years ago although Estonia are probably happy as well. Turkey v Croatia after their epic Euro 2008 match is a must watch. Czechs should get past Monty.
I reckon EIRE and Portugal will be very happy and should fancy their chances of going through.
Would prefer Turkey to go through over Croatia as I think they are more likely to offer a challenge to other teams, outqualified Belgium after all who have a lot of very good players these days.
Czech Republic will be the other team I'd like to see go through.
