Wigan will have some confidence after their win at Sunderland, but if we don't beat them then quite frankly, :rose:.
Team:
Szczesny
Djourou
Koscielny
Vermaelen
Santos
Song
Arteta
Ramsey
Walcott
RVP
Gervinho
I'd like to see maybe Rosicky or Diaby in midfield if they're fit, but we should have more space to play than we did against Fulham. Oxlade-Chamberlain deserves to play some part too.
1-3 Arsenal.
That'd be my preferred line-up. But I think Merts will be in, and Kos at RB. I doubt Oxo will be on the bench considering he had 90 in mid-week and is never picked anyway. Will probably be a bit of a struggle. I'll go 1-1.

From what I've seen of them Wigan are almost comedically bad. Not bad in a shit-kicking kind of way, but they play as if you had assembled a team from all your most drunken uncles.
Win.

Wigan had a cracking win against Sunderland last week, and I genuinely think the whole of football likes Latics boss Roberto Martinez and wants to see him do well.
Everyone appreciates how Martinez gets his team to play the game, and how he won't compromise that. He also showed his principles when he turned down the chance to take over at Aston Villa in the summer.
But I would not get too carried away with that Wigan win - Sunderland had lots of chances to win that game and the goal the Black Cats conceded at the end was a comedy of errors.
As for Arsenal, well if Robin van Persie turns up they will win. That's the way it works, isn't it?
Wigan had a cracking win against the Gunners a couple of years ago, when they won 3-2 in a real thriller but I cannot see them having any luck here.
This is an Arsenal team which is a completely different animal to the one which was struggling at the start of the season. Arsene Wenger has turned things round completely and he now has competition for places, which is the best thing you can have at a club because it does half the manager's job for him.
Prediction: 0-2

Typically solid in defence - not that we've been tested much. Attack could be better. Walcott and Gervinho keep feeling the need to pass to Van Persie instead of going for better options and it's frustrating because I thought we'd got rid of that 'pass to the star man' mentality.
Arteta, before his goal, actually created a couple of good openings by turning a defender/getting forward and playing a good ball out wide. I need to see it again but I think his strike could've been saved...but at least he had a shot. Vermaelen is just a beast.
A 25 yarder and a great header from a corner...what a sexy pub team we are. :scarf:

He needs PL experience. Wenger said so himself.
Were 4-0 up against wigan doubt he'd get any exprience from that.

I said there would be trouble if we underestimated them. As it turned out, we were professional and therefore easily beat them, which is to be expected.
Arsene said we'd score from other players.
