Seriously? The campaigns control the US media?

I wouldn't say they control the media, but FOX are clearly and unashamedly pro Republican, MSNBC are clearly and unashamedly pro Democrat.
They don't just report the news, they both constantly spout propaganda for the side they support. Whether they are paid to do so is not really relevant, the end result is whoever you support you can find a new source which constantly tells you what you want to hear and reinforces your beliefs. I happen to think that's a bad thing.

Look, you just aren't aware enough to have a useful opinion on any of this. You are entitled to an opinion, and you give it with gusto, but the gaps in your knowledge are crippling to your understanding of how and why the media works the way it does. And I know, it's just me saying that so he said, she said. But it's just a fact some people are in possession of more information than others. Where did you go, Wikipedia? Bigger boys than me don't view this in the same convenient and predictable way. You should start with the Church Committee and work forwards until you get to Anderson Cooper and his cohorts. Educate yourself.
