Is the issue with needing to be logged in to view a topic getting fixed, I find it a bit annoying having to login everytime I click on something.
Imagine it's not great for potential new members either.

No, the change has been made to change how guests view the board, removing the amount of things they can do... one of the main problems we experienced was due to how much they could see!

There's a checkbox to leave you logged in. Just do that.

Ok, I have to say though that IMO I don't think many people will join if all they can see is a topic subject, what would make someone join would be the desire to contribute to a discussion (I know there's not many on here)
