    My First Arsenal Match

FWIW, it is exactly 50 years ago to the day that I went to my first ever Arsenal match. We beat Newcastle 4-0 at Highbury on Wednesday 6th Oct 1971. On the Saturday, I went again and we beat them 4-2 to knock them out of the League Cup.

And then you went to see us lose to Hull City.

My first game was home to Coventry. Dixon lobbed Seaman from about 40 yards out.

    We lost 2-1.
If you don’t send this signature to ten people, you will become a Spurs fan.

    Anfield '89.

Then I beat Federer in straight sets.
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.

I have no idea who my first game was against.

They were wearing white shirts and black shorts. It finished 0-0, at one point we hit the side netting and we thought it was a goal.

I didn't even know the name of the team I was supposed to be supporting, they were just "the reds"

    That was a bum start.

And yes - my first visit to the Emirates was that Hull City match. I bought a program and while I was wandering round the stadium before the match, I bumped into Liam Brady and got him to sign it.

I think mine was against...I'm going to say Southampton. I actually can't remember much about it. No idea what the result was
I remember hating it, I was quite young and I think I was a bit scared of the crowd and noise!
I didn't really get properly in to football till Anfield '89. That propelled me from armchair fan to someone who went to games, we went to games here and there in 89-90 and then had season tickets from 1990-91 (Champions! Champions! ) up until I got married (whoop-ah!). Although by then dad was getting a bit ill and not really able to go which was a factor - it was our thing.

My first really big game was the Arsenal vs Spurs in the 1991 Semi-Final.

Now let us never speak of it again
