I think it’s 90% Southgate. He has persisted with a team lineup that isn’t working, and his ultra defensive style is straitjacketing us.

I think a lot of players need to look at themselves as well for sure, but you need a coach that has the ability to bring the best out of his best players.

Similarly I think the fact that France have been disappointing both in this Euro and the previous one and arguably that they couldn’t beat a feeble Portugal side in the 2016 final is on Deschamps. He’s dining out on the World Cup win when actually his inadequacies have been compensated for by Mbappe
