Pat Nevin quite right to say that the pre-game handshake should be junked anyway. I mean, what's the frigging point? It's the equivalent of being cornered into thinking you have no choice but to 'buy' a poppy to "show how much you care".
We already have to endure that pathetically bad "respect" UEFA advert, give us a bit of a break.
It should only be after the game if anything. At least then you know if it had been played in the 'right spirit' whatever the hell that is. I'd rather there was a banner of "Let's Twat These Twats" before each game.
