Auba's a gifted footballer but evidently a flawed character. Last few times I watched him, admittedly a while ago, it looked like he wasn't much interested in football any more. Not really an acceptable attitude considering the amount of cash he's extracting from fans' pockets. If he's as shiftless today as he was when I saw him then he's no loss to anyone.

He's also had malaria and covid in quick succession so it's somewhat understandable that he might be off pace on the pitch, but the off field stuff like turning up late to an NLD and now this makes it untenable.

So yeah, he'll be gone soon and we'll keep this as a lesson to learn (second time round) about what can happen when you give footballers massive contracts with no incentive to improve.

This is the trouble with these guys' getting hundreds of thousands of pounds a week. It makes them untouchable.

God, I hope he doesn’t give it back to Xhaka! We’ve only just got back to a place where we can sort of live with each other again - the last thing any of us need (Xhaka included) is for that blow up again!
