Luton haven’t really been battered by the bigger teams but yeah it goes without saying we should be winning that one comfortably.
Can’t completely absolve Saliba and Gabriel in that game, the marking at set pieces was sub par but I think the main issue that night was David Raya.
They are definitely less pathetic than Sheffield United, actually I find them quite an admirable team but fact is they simply aren’t of premier league standard. They are the 2023/2024 answer to sides like Swindon, Barnsley and Blackpool who made it to the big time but showed very clearly they didn’t really belong.
This season was always a bit of a free hit for Luton.
I think the long term plan is, go down, use the parachute payments to build a PL standard squad then get promoted straight back up and actually have a decent shout of staying in it for the long haul.
You used to be everything to me
Now you're tired of fighting
Yeah my sentiments exactly. It would be nice if we could show a bit of faith and start these squad players rather than tired legs who have a very difficult two fixtures coming up after this game. I’d like to rest the likes of Jorginho (he’s 33) and Saka (who doesn’t look match fit) and play maybe Partey and Vieira as well as giving Trossard minutes especially given we all agree that Jesus is not going to be reliable with goals
