If he'd done the same to another manager at the beginning of a game, it would have been a major incident - it's not an accident, it's really blatant and it's really unprofessional to behave like that

to me it speaks volumes about the kind of person Arteta is, i.e. a total control freak - I'd already said elsewhere that i bet Trossard is regretting coming to a club where he thought he'd have a fair chance of getting game time, only to find that Arteta has one starting 11 and you're either you're in or you're out

We're not Man Utd, we can't afford a manager who is endlessly freezing out talented players for no reason, but it's exactly what he's doing

Arsenal have played 18 league games since Trossard joined us, and he’s played some part in all of them…so not exactly being “frozen out”. It would have been nice to see him start more games for sure and get more game time. But frozen out? That’s what happened to Ozil (and in his case that was deserved)

Arteta has all the social charm of Raymond Babbit, so whilst I accept he does fall out with players I wouldn’t want to draw that conclusion based on a ten second clip.

Martinelli is out for the rest of the season, If Trossard doesn’t start against Forest then yeah there might be something to it. Unless….nah

If the ten-second clip was of Arteta shooting Trossard in the head, you'd be tallking differently, the length of the clip is irrelevant

I strongly suspect Trossard thought he should start against Brighton, he knows their players and who'd be more up for it than him?

Maybe he's made too much of it and annoyed Arteta,, but not to keep up at least a pretence of normal working relationships is poor on Arteta's part

That would be a clip of someone murdering someone so yes I agree completely different.

It’s pretty clear that the test of whether there’s something in it, is the team sheet at 16:30 on Saturday afternoon

If Trossard starts, best to ignore the clip unless more subsequently appear

If Trossard doesn’t start, then you can conclude there might be an issue

Plus and this warrants mentioning, you still think that a couple of idiots dressing up in black is the heralding of a Nazi renaissance so best to treat your analytical acumen with skepticism

As I say I’ll let the team sheet do the talking. It’s not that I’m saying you’re definitely wrong because Arteta has history of falling out with players but to this end a) Trossard hasn’t been frozen out of the team and b) the length of the clip is relevant because a longer clip might show you who else he didn’t shake hands with and greet.

Trossard was apparently being a pain in the arse when still with Brighton, and so might be getting a bit too opinionated for Arteta’s liking and I agree with Auba that this is clearly not someone who can handle strong minded/willful players….given I think Arteta is on the neurodiverse spectrum.

But I have no diagnostic credentials to make anything more than an educated guess about such things

The length of the clip isn't completely irrelevant. The point is, it's a clip. I've seen this sort of thing where clips have been edited leaving out the wider context to paint a narrative which doesn't reflect what actually happened.
I think you're reading way too much into this. I'm not saying Arteta doesn't have flaws but so do all managers. But for all that he's got us being the only team to try and challenge a City side who like they're cruising to the treble.
Apart from them we've been miles above everyone else, so he's doing something right. Whether he can push us on remains to be seen but he's absolutely earned the right to try.

Trossard came on early enough to make an impact but he was shit anyway. Got double teamed and mocked out of the game by Brighton fans.

I often walk the streets of London and can assure you I wouldn't let my daughter walk through some of the shit hole streets and estates after dusk. It works both ways.

Arteta definitely doesn't like strong personalities though. I think that's clear.

I also think there's a link there to arsenal's successive collapses at crucial points of the last two seasons.

Arteta clearly prefers subservience in his players but those types of people don't tend to resist pressure particularly well.

    At last some sense
