World peace isn’t helped by turning around and whistling every time Russia takes the piss. The main reason Putin invaded Ukraine was because he knew the west would do the bare minimum to help. Even without Trump, the problem for Russia is that their military personnel is largely draftees, because a lot of them have been sent home to their babuskha mothers in plain pine boxes. No sympathy, that’s what you get when you invade other peoples countries. Got away with it in Syria because they just bombed civillians into the dust with MIG fighters.

And it’s got nothing to do with Nuclear weapons that we haven’t directly confronted Russian, it’s that the Germans haven’t curbed themselves of their addiction to Russian gas, and up until two years ago…Russian oligarchs had billions invested in both the uk and us economy.

The EU leaders are a bunch of cunts for tolerating Orban, but then again the populist right aren’t exactly that dedicated to preserving democracy and democratic norms and they justify it by inventing conspiracy theories about others.

Iraqis loved living under Saddam did they. I’d suggest you ask anyone who had to live under him how they felt about that, same with Gaddafi in Libya. Problem is the west bolstered both regimes at one time or another out of short termism.

Syria aside from the repressive and brutal rule of Assad was experiencing crippling drought

It’s not that there are no conspiracies because there clearly are, but most actually exist to cover up incompetence/malfeasance and do reputational protection . I find with conspiracy theorists, it’s supposed to be about lack of trust in the system (and I’m actually sympathetic to that) but then they seem to have a lot of trust in the ability of people to carry out elaborate conspiracies and broadly keep it a secret. That’s where I find it difficult, I have no problem with accepting human malignancy, my credulity is tested when it comes to ability

Most of the "evidence" for conspiracy theories I hear is based on incredulity and ignorance.
There's a difference between a healthy distrust of the mainstream and a "it's mainstream, therefore it's false" which is the rabbit hole certain people on here have fallen down.
