I like how they’ve mixed the teams parading with the river and interspersed it with other bits.
The parade of teams does go on too long so mixing it in like that is a pretty good idea

So I think the opening ceremony is a bit rubbish to be honest, far inferior to the London one at any rate. The London one didn’t take itself too seriously but it was still a passionate embrace of Britain, where as the French seem to be doing a camp self-pastiche
Not watched this one, all I really remember from 2012 was the nurses that was peak cringe.
They should have gone a bit Edgy and done a bit with a Mercedes-Benz speeding off recklessly into the Pont L’Alma tunnel being chased by men on motorcycles pointing cameras
The concept was good. Using the Seine to parade the teams, using the city itself as the backdrop.
But yeah, it hasn’t really worked. It’s been a bit of a mess
