I think he’s making the point that Johnson and the calamity that surrounds him would have made Scottish voters more likely to vote for independence. And whilst that’s not untrue, Johnson especially is about as popular with Scots as Edward the Longshanks…it’s kind of academic as there isn’t going to be a referendum in the near future.
Even if Johnson declared himself Lord Protector I still don’t think the Scots would go for independence
And I think Sturgeon knows it as well, that’s why she’s claiming the next general election will be a de facto referendum where they’ll claim independence based on a majority of seats (a majority of seats and a plurality of the vote)
