I just watched it again and it's exactly as i remembered it, he didn't face any tackle of significance until he reached the box, Vieira was nowhere near him and neither was Dixon, Keown makes a complete mess of the tackle
maybe once he's in the area it was a half-decent shot but that's it
btw he should have been booked for taking his shirt off

Was the defending great? No but no great goals would never be scored if defending was great all the time. But Giggs did well to outmanoeuvre these players.
For me it’s like saying Peter Reid should have brought down Maradona in 1986, well chance would be a fine thing. So respectfully disagree on that goal. And I say that in full knowledge that Ryan Giggs is a massive prick.
Funny how I have no problem watching that semi final yet still haven’t watched The champions league final since 17th May 2006.
