The supine obsequious compliance of the liberal commentariat like Dunt and O’Brien is hilarious if not unexpected. The fluffer job they’ve done for Starmer being a kept man of Lord Ali highlights the gross hypocrisy of the way they railed against the corruption and client journalist apologists of the last government.

Pretending they don’t know exactly what Kemi Badenoch is talking about when she says certain cultures are invalid. Despite wearing their liberal credentials on their sleeves it’s not cricket to point out that we have imported people here who have a culture that treats women lower than chattel slaves, thinks rape and honour killings are not only acceptable but positively virtuous things.
And this doesn’t just apply to the religion of peace, although the Wahhabist salafist version of Islam that has been pushed in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia means it’s likely to be majority Muslim.
Whatever we think of the far right in this country (and I think nothing good) even the biggest racist skinhead piece of shit won’t arrange with family members to murder their daughter for wanting to marry the wrong man and bringing shame on them in their status driven community.
I have a lot of time for the Kurds, especially those of Peshmerga who have fought both Assad and ISIS in Syria and Iraq, but it can’t be ignored that these horrendous attitudes are just as prevalent amongst Kurdish communities both in the uk and Mesopotamia as they are in the Punjab (whether you are Muslim or Hindu)

And I don’t think men with such values should be allowed to come here, more we should only be available as a sanctuary for women who want to escape that kind of thing. As well as helping Afghani women escape the Taliban.

Islamophobia is a word invented by the Iranian regime in order to prevent criticism of a faith that is by some way the most dangerous set of ideological beliefs in the world at present, as well as criticising the unpleasant zealots who’s behaviour is informed and supported by those beliefs.

I don’t want people here who threaten teachers for showing images of the prophet, I don’t want people here who threaten school children for scuffing their own version of the Quran. I don’t want people here who openly profess their support for Hezbollah, Hamas, Al-Queda, ISIS, Hizb-ut-Tahrir etc

I don’t want people here who proudly carry placards containing the Hadith “Oh Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me…come and kill him”

You can be against that and against people throwing bricks and setting fire to Mosques. We can accept peoples right to practice a faith, without placating those who want to create cultural enclaves and have zero interest in integrating into the dominant culture (and no that doesn’t mean divesting yourself of your cultural heritage, just leave behind the bits that don’t lend themselves to integration with a secular society)

Real reference for the over 65’s, but Spiro Agnew used to talk like that (not that I was trying to emulate him…I pay my taxes)

As much as I have nothing but contempt for this dreadful government, what I can’t abide even more is those who spent the last 14 years cheerleading the populist excess of the last government which drove this country into the ground and now screaming “murder” when Labour is kicking the corpse

Contempt is a bit harsh, it's still fairly early days.
I think it's fair to say I'm a bit disappointed in them so far though.

No contempt is mild in my view

Honestly would prefer the Tories back, at least they didn’t beclown themselves on foreign policy (and that’s despite having Johnson and Truss as foreign secretary)

Everything that is fucked in this country - and that's a lot of things - is fucked because of the Tories. And you want them back?
As Einstein famously didn't say, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
We definitely needed a change. I don't think the country will suddenly be a shining utopia but they can't possibly bollox things up worse.

They can and they are that’s the problem

Believe me I don’t say this lightly, the Tories as you say took managed decline to the nth degree

They absolutely would do nothing to repair the damage they’ve already done

But they wouldn’t have spat on our closest ally in the Middle East the way Labour have done, they wouldn’t have handed a potential espionage coup to China (well actually that said, the last government did do that with Huawei).

I tell you what I’m only half joking that if the FCO even so much as utters anything about handing back Gibraltar or giving the Falklands over to Argentina, id happily see a military coup d’etat carried out

What is it Starmer said today, basically his rationale for allowing a private members bill on assisted dying to be debated, is a promise he made to Esther Fucking Rantzen. One of the biggest social/healthcare changes this country has ever seen, and it could be based on a promise to a has been celebrity with stage 4 cancer.

Yes I get the current bill is only for the Terminally ill, but with the NHS in the state it’s currently in, it would be to paraphrase Chuck McGill like a “chimp with a machine gun”

The whole Middle East situation is such a mess I have no faith in the Tories to deal with it in a competent way. They spat on our closest allies in the world, the EU

She started a campaign which got enough votes from the public to trigger a debate.
And most people in this country support it.

    n”
Gibraltar is likely to be joining Schengen it will de facto be handed over to Spain. Brits will need EU permission to visit British territory a laughable consequence of Brexit sovereignty.
