Pretty much agree with this, blowing £50 million (plus huge wages) on one player when we need several quality players is stupid. Whilst I want quality players at the club I don't believe you have to spend 40-50 million to get them.
He's a good player but he's not that good that we should spend that kind of money on him anyhow, that's the kind of money you'd spend (if at all) on very special talents who have huge marketing potential for the club as well.
Contrary to popular belief you don't have to spend 50 million on a player to get quality and if you have a decent scouting network there are plenty of players you could bring in (despite what Mr Wenger seems to think).
All they have to do is convince players they are ambitious (and by spending they will) and that their aim is the CL/winning trophies.

Pretty much, not a lot wrong with what he said on that subject, it's just common sense really.
Last month you were arguing that 40 million was an acceptable rate for world class players but that's changed now.
They are not many strikers , world class ones, like we need who will go for anything less then 30 million. The players we need will be expensive. Soldado has gone for 26 million, and he has gone to spurs. You have to ask why none of the top four clubs looked at him and then realise the level of stickers we need and how much they will cost
He harped on about a number of kids in the squad in some interview posted yesterday as well, it's pretty much the youth project all over again, he should stick to managing the boy scouts rather than the 1st team because that's all he seems to be interested in. Noone pointed out that his youth policy has heeded no rewards and the team he claimed were fantastic has slowly (and I say slowly because we've not been able to get rid of them easily) been dismantled, now he wants to do it all over again!

I don't want us to spend that much on one player, I want us to spend 20-25 million max on a player so we can bring in a few, at that price you still get top quality.
The only time it should ever be considered to spend 40 million is if a player is younger and clearly going to bring in loads of money in marketing, like Neymar for example.
What's the point of spending 20/25 million max on a player? It won't bring in the quality we need. Which strikers are going at that rate this summer that are top quality? None. All more then that price so you want us to spend 25 million max on a player who won't massively improve us.
Amd you have said, you said when saying you have to pay going rates for world class players.
