This is incredible. How can a simple challenge (if you can call it that) put a strong well built guy out for 9 months? Its not like he had his leg broken by a horrible challenge! Cannot believe we suffer from these injuries all the time.

NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.
He clearly was still suffering from something, which is why he was in and out of the team recently and we had to suffer Giroud. Players usually play with knocks and pains of some sort they manage so with him, if there was nothing on a scan or easily picked up by the physios, then it's always a risk after a long time out.
That said, this will just run and run. The guy is f'kd for good now.
Just buy him out of his contract and get rid then spend money on a decent striker.
I'd happily keep him and buy a striker anyway, not fantastic in front of goal but we play better when he's in the team and he works his nuts off.
I think arguably you need three strikers in a squad and I don't think Sanchez counts, you have your star striker who plays week in week out and you have your back up players in Giroud and Welbeck who can be rotated or used if we play two up top or as you say play Welbeck in a wide position.
Welbz.
Pretty shit luck.
