why not? it's clearly what they're good at and it's really put Wuhan on the map - clearly the way for post-brexshit britain to make its mark - Cummings is probably talking to science labs now...

and by the way they're continuing EU negotiations even though we're in what’s being compared to a war - if you ever needed evidence of the fanaticism with which the leavers just can’t wait to damage our country even further through economic suicide it’s this.

I have to agree, its a joke that the EU negotiations are continuing, we all have much bigger things to worry about right now. No one would care if the transition period was extended by two years except perhaps Farage. But what’s he going to do? There are no elections for ages and electing brexit party candiates in local elections does nothing.

Although, given the economy & supply chains are completely fucked, they could just go for a no deal brexit now as no consequences....

Just because the UK propaganda arm of the Chinese communist party claims Wuhan is open, doesn't make it so. Even their own propaganda pictures show very sparse activity. Quite surprised they didn't pack a few thousand peasants together to get better optics. If you listen to Asian sources, there's a very different picture emerging in China, including hints of Winnie the Pooh's time being short. None of it makes it onto the Bought By China (BBC) mouthpiece.

And they are "open for business" because they hoarded medical supplies and other essentials at the same time as infecting the rest of the planet. Now they have to get busy selling these supplies back under the guise of humanitarian aid. The reds at the BBC aren't mentioning that either.

As to moves by the politburo in Brussels, with help from their fifth column behind the lines here in the UK, to get the whole Brexit thing derailed again, it just shows what we are really up against. Striking while the nation is typing to handle a pandemic. It's low, even by their basement standards. The EU should be more worried about its chief medical advisor resigning today because he couldn't get anything useful done in such an inept and self focused bureaucracy. And some want this monstrosity to be let back through the door after it took 3 years to force it out. Don't get too excited. There's far more chance of the EU collapsing in entirety than Britain somehow being consumed while people are sick and vigilance is low. The EU has been shown in all its absurdity during this crisis.

Just as long as we never buy anything from them again. That's the best way to contain them.

a well-deserved ninja emoji, as the reality is when the rest of the EU picked up we'd still have a fucked economy and fewer supply chains

I'm not sure why so many people suddenly want the business of government, or even the nature of it, to suddenly change or stop altogether. Some are panicking about the Prime Minister being in hospital. Others are talking about constitutions and "unity" coalitions. WTF? The civil service hasn't died. It's still there, as it ever was. Ministers come and go all the time. Prime Ministers come and go. The state rolls on regardless. Because it's a huge machine staffed by countless thousands. The "decisions" made by ministers are based on the advice of the civil servants that turn the wheels. We've already seen Johnson making "decisions" ranging from herd immunity through total lockdown. He didn't come up with that shit by himself, he was being "guided by science", which translates to following the advice of civil servants.

So of course we should continue as much of the day to day business of government as possible. Why wouldn't we? We have the media crying about how continuity is threatened, then they see continuity and start crying that we should be doing that now. Which is it?

The nasty commies at the Guardian will be delighted by this news. Not that they will have even looked into the data to figure if this is true or not.

What a coincidence. China has handled this best and the US and UK have handled it worst. Who could have predicted the lefties would come up with that storyline?
