Newcastle fan stabbed in Milan last night. Fortunately it seems like the injuries are not life threatening. I genuinely don’t get grown men punching each other and throwing anything from plastic chairs to masonry at each other, I certainly don’t understand how trying to kill each other over it makes any sense.

Since when do CL games kick off at 17:45?

    20:00 for that matter too.

Jeez, it’s been so long I thought everything was still 19:45.

Been a thing for a while. Five years at least. Our last group game in Eindhoven is a quarter to six game

If I’m honest I’ve hated every change in the champions league format in the last twenty years, from the last 16 (much preferred the second group stage) , the staggered knockout fixtures (although only with the last 16 and I don’t like that anyway) and worst of all the final on a Saturday. European finals should be midweek.

Oh and I don’t like the way they’ve buggered around with the group stage fixture schedule, the team you play on match day two should be the team you play in the final group game, not the team you play on match day one.

Somehow we’re 4th favourites to win this.

I know the landscape of European football isn’t what it used to be but still.

Hmmm behind Bayern, Real Madrid and Man City I’m guessing?

Would probably favour Liverpool over us given they are pretty adept at this competition.

Champions league update: both these sides are wank. Milan should be comfortably ahead but have wasted chances (probably explains why that team of geriatrics Inter took them apart at the weekend)

    0-0 FT

Newcastle came close to getting a fully undeserved winner right at the end but goalkeeper pulled off a save from that outcast from Mordor Longstaff.

They’d have taken that result to begin with, but think PSG and Dortmund will be tougher tests

And Young Boys have been rogered 3-1 by Leipzig

Red star ahead at City, all one way traffic but Red Star score in their only attack
