Do we still have a Muse clique? If so, FAO them:

New album out this September called The Second Law, trailer released yesterday: http://he-3.mu/

I... don't know what to think about this, the strings at the beginning sound pretty cool, but Muse and Dubstep? Surely not.

I'm aware that I'm probably shouting at an empty room here, but meh. I thought I might as well see if this led to anything.

A 'trailer' for an album? Really?
I think ILT is dead, GP has run off and formed an anti-Muse clique. I'm in neither camp.
Will probably have a listen to the new album when it's out though.

I'm not 'anti' Muse. Absolution is one of my favourite albums.

But I just don't understand what they're trying to do these days. Their last album was beyond awful.

But yeah, a trailer for an album? Jeebus...

You're neither dead nor anti-Muse. Good to know

It seems they're keeping their promise of doing something radically different, and I can imagine that second part being incredible live. Still... Muse doing (what sounds like) Dubstep... hmmm.

I quite liked their last album but they are so far up their own arses it's untrue.
Didn't think much of the trailer tbh.

    What makes you say that?

Also re: The Resistance, there are some good tracks on there (MK Ultra, Exogenesis, Uprising) mixed with some god-awful ones (I'm looking at YOU, Guiding Light ) but it's nowhere near the heights of Origin of Symmetry or Absolution. The trailer... not convinced by any means, but it's still only a snippet. Entered the raffle for the next tour though :D

They've always been overrated. All their songs sound very samey. Guess this changes that!

Releasing a trailer for an album. A trailer?

And don't even get me started about the 3 part 'symphony' on their last album or their album and song titles. All a bit pretentious.

All that said, I applaud that they try new things - even if I don't like them it's better than Oasis style churning out album after album of the same thing.

Every band puts out visual ads for upcoming albums, why not give fans a taste of what's actually coming, instead of just a pic of the band looking cool in front of the album art. Makes sense, even if it's not been done before. The song titles and lyrics are supposed to be tongue in cheek, especially the political ones. Exogenesis you might call pretentious if you see it that way, but all music is pretentious in some sense I guess.

Oh, and bignev, go and listen to Micro Cuts then Screenager, two successive tracks on the same album, and then say they're samey

I bought The Resistance. I liked BHaR and Absolution more.
